When I bought my last bike I requested mine in the crate...so I could be the first one to fondle it....plus it was my first brand new bike in 18 years, so I wanted to assemble myself.

And Nomad15...I think you are a fucking jerkoff for disrespecting a soilder, agree or diagree with the war, pay respect to the people fighting it.

Thats funny stuff right there.
As for ripping through the gears, thats not what i said.
A dealership is required to make sure the bike works properly before it is released to the customer.

^^What ck95 said. Wink

The thing that's impressive on both the KX250F and KX450F is how much "new" is in the new models. New frames on both bikes. New (off the top of my head) fork coatings, fork guards, an all-new engine on the 250F, the EFI on the 450... Then there's new swingarms, new subframes, new bodywork...

I'll have a lot more detail on both bikes this week.
Yo, GIBBY!

Dude, send me those pics you took of my "butt whips!" LOL!!!

Good hanging out, man.

Hands down the worst post I have ever seen here (And that's a mouthful)

A. Nomad you are a fucking DOUCHE!
B. The soldiers in Iraq as well as every service man and women that has or will serve this country anywhere, affords us the rights we have. How dare you talk smack about one of America's best. I cannot even communicate what I am feeling right now...

FGR01 - I want to apologize for the ignorance of this ASS! I thank you, my children thank you and the Motocross world thanks you!!!

what's sad is there are men/women dying right now to protect the right for nomad to say dipshit things like this and he is too stupid to appreciate it. Truly the most classless post witnessed on VitalDrive. Congrats Nomad, you are captain dickhead.

So, is Nomad clicked yet or what? He hasn't posted in a while... If not, a click should be on the way.

What a douche.

IT seems almost inevitable that most threads on this forum have to come to this. What ever happened to "sticking to the topic" which in this case would mean having a meaningful discussion about the new Kaw450. I would encourage the person who created this thread to check out the kx450F forum over at thumpertalk for some real world reviews as well as some links to the online magazine tests which i have posted up.

Everytime I've requested my bike be left in the crate, it has been, no questions asked.

thats actually not allowed by the manufacturers, the techs have to sign a build sheet when they build it and the customer has to sign the same sheet. We build them but leave them dry for our riders but for anyone else we fire them up just to make sure all is good.

Yeah but that doesn't mean they don't still do it for long time customers or friends. I know because we pick up all are bikes from the dealer in the crate my brother just got his new Honda 450 in the crate.

No I didn't mean it in a mean or mad way I'm sorry if you took it that way I was just trying to make it clear that you still could do it. I didn't mean harm.

Even more liability on the dealer, b/c they are the ones signing off everything is in good running order when it leaves thier possession.

I always hated other people riding my stuff, but now that I am on the other side I can understand it. Esp. on MX bikes as most have no MFG warranty, if something is wrong out of the crate it sure is easier to get it covered.

On that note, we don't abuse anything when we do the PDI test ride. Most dealers I would think are the same way.

It's not so much about the PDI test as it is about the bone heads here in EL Paso putting the thing together. They forget all sorts of things like to forget to put oil on the air filter and all other things. I would check it over but in the back of my mind I would be worried about them missing something important.

Then why buy from someone who you don't trust?

BTW, most bikes come with the air filter pre-oiled.

Wow, I went away for a few days and had no idea what this thread had turned into.

Not even going to attempt to reason with Mr. Douchebag up there.

As far as getting the bike in the crate, you've all covered it. There's the rules, and then there's reality.

Actually, I've gotten about 5 of my new bikes with no crate because the crates are only used for international shipping. When I got my new bikes in Japan the shop owner (one of my best friends) would call me and tell me when the truck was coming from the factory and I would go roll it off the truck myself.

Kawasaki's come with something like motor oil on the airfilter... or wd40.. definitely need to be serviced before riding.
