I sort of stole this idea from Reddit. I'm curious how it will pan out in this sort of community (on Reddit, strong posts are bumped to the top of a thread for visibility).
Just post your unpopular opinion and WHY you believe so.
Remember to keep all posts civil. If Reddit can do it, you can.
I'll start:
I think that comparing injuries in racing to football is unreasonable. Someone like Chad could be competitive with multiple injuries, but a player with a sprained ankle has been almost completely been rendered obsolete until healed.
Oh god here it comes...

"Jeff, what does XXXXX need to do to catch up with XXXXX?"
"Ricky, how important is it for XXXXX to get a good start?"
"James, can I come home with you?" (implied, not actually said)
Fucking kills me with that one
Oh and
"Gate Drop Time!"
1.) Ralph sucks. How he's managed to keep that cushy gig this many years I don't know. Broadcast would dramatically improve with Weege or someone else in his spot.
2.) Double edged sword here, but all the big companies starting to come into the sport.....yes, we need their money. No, they don't give a shit about the sport, they just think they can make a profit off of us - the riders/fans/community. If one of their beancounters decides we aren't spending enough of our money on their products, they're out of here. Teams will fold and riders will be without rides. This is just basic economics and is nothing new....but when I read press releases about sponsors caring about the sport and wanting to be a part of it blah blah blah, I just think "bullshit".
Or, an egotist that is worried their valuable opinion will otherwise be lost in a long thread.
1. I secretly think that it's a screwed up situation every time I see injured riders having to ask for money in a first world country on a moto message board (obviously this is the only thread I would ever say that, so don't jump on me). Despite all it's flaws I'm super thankful for the NHS over here.
Edited.
I've been to both NASCAR and SX races and felt way more ashamed to be in the stands at a SX race. I'll take the beer and BBQ at a NASCAR race over the flat-bills and Monster at a SX race any day of the week.

It doesn't seem to matter if I buy the pricier seats or the nose bleed section,
there's always an obnoxious drunk way too close. I enjoy a good beverage as
much as the next guy but would much rather not drink and not have to deal with the
drunks then have a couple beers and be in the middle of multiple over indulged
fans.

James Stewart is the biggest ticket draw in Supercross. More people go to see him win or crash trying than anybody on the line...period.
The GoPro commercials during this year's televised SX events are a hint that Millsaps will be on a Suzuki when he comes back to racing.
Ryan Villopoto is gay.
- One of the things that gets me is when MX media folks are called out and railed against as insiders. That's sort of the point isn't it? How dare they interact with key players in the industry and then report information and post articles. MX fans get really weird/fickle about stuff, but I guess that's because we are all passionate about a sport we love.
Tracks are closing for a variety of issues and the cost of racing/riding is continuing increase. Moreover, we're learning more and more about the dangers of head injuries among many other issues weighing down on our sport.
I just don't see it lasting much longer.
Same goes for substances that alter your mood, ie, alcohol, pot and SSRI's
