so marv is the favorite even though dean wilson is a former champ in the class and has run up front way more. wierd?
To be fair- musquin won motos and was consistently near the front in that class last season, I would still say Wilson is gona be a contender but its a long time since he was winning races in the 250 class. You could say its as big a question mark as pourcel in that respect? I've got faith in both of them- but I can see why someone would say musquin is the favourite.

Theres also question marks over baggets wrist? does anyone know if he's back to 100% or not?

With every addition of another fast guy in the 250 mix, AC gets pushed back farther as expectations go.

x2, but still a wild card

if he doesnt put results in by the end of this year, i think its safe to say hes just another over hyped amateur

cooper webb is the dude IMO, way under-rated

I dunno about that. AC is definitely over hyped.........BUT , the dude is small ( now ). It may be another year or two before he really starts to mature ......and when he does , he'll be packing on some "man muscles".......and his results will only get better. I think another rider that got thrown in to the wolves a little to quick would be Zach Bell.......poor kid took a beating this year!

Not all kids mature at the same rate......AC and Zach are two great examples. It may be another year or two before we really start to see those kids shine.....but their time is coming.

AC is not over hyped. Barring injury, I'm positive this is the year he shows just why he was so hyped as an amateur. Aldon, training and riding with RV and Roczen, some National experience, his natural ability on a bike, maturity, and competitive desire; there's no way this kid is some flash in the pan.

Cooper Webb is certainly underrated, too. Both AC and Webb will win races this year.

Back to the thread, I'm beyond psyched that Pourcel is back. I'll be twice as exited if a wholly motivated Pourcel is back, but we'll have to wait until Hangtown to see if that is the case.

Agreed.

His career may not start hot as quickly as some would like but he's got a ways to grow. People shouldn't sleep on him.

The only thing I could see derailing this kid is being put around the wrong influences.

Has there ever been a rider to take a 2-3 year break from the sport, and come back to win again? I'm not trying to be a sarcastic a-hole, I'm asking a serious question. I know he's been racing some stuff over in Europe, but has he had much success over there lately?

I would like him to get back in the mix and win again, but I honestly don't see it happening. However, I didn't think Reed would win again after watching him struggle and injure himself the last two years, so what do I know?

I take it he was testing and that's his VMS 250f in the background?

CP did quite well during his time back over in Europe. 2012 his last year racing he finished 4th in the WC behind Paulin, Desalle and Cairoli.

he will be a favorite for the title.

Well.. he is coming into the 250class...so yeah.. it's possible he could win it...I very much doubt he will though.

Not saying I'm right, but I will be shocked if he wins an OA this year. I guess I should reserve judgment until the season starts, but I'm skeptical right now. I wish him the best, though. I'd love to be surprised.

I think he will win some OA's.. just not the Championship.

All guesswork anyway.

Ferris is NOWHERE near the 2012 bagget. If bagget comes out this year like he did that year it's already over. Roczen was even way off baggets speed, and roczen owned Herlings just the year before.

I think you're a little optimistic to say the least...
