Witch I've heard people say could be a possibility, Would he be one of the only top pro riders to stay on the same brand his whole career? Reed,Stewart,Carmichael,McGrath, dungery, windham, emig all rode other brands in the careers. Is there anyone else that I'm not old enough to remember that did the same

Wardy stayed on Kawi throughout right?

Buggered if I can think of any else. Maybe some older generation dudes in the 60s-70s in europe?

Spose Travis has always been a Suzuki guy.

Pretty sure I remember Ward riding a Yamaha in his rookie year. I was at the Charlotte national and seems like he was riding one there.

RV has made it pretty clear that he's done at the end of 2015. There comes a time in a dudes life where committing your entire life to the sport puts everything else on the back burner ( some what anyways ). He would of made about 50 X more than he'll need to retire and hopefully get out in one piece and enjoy the family life. Think RC , KW and many others.....

At this level....it's a young mans game. Guys like KW , Larocco , Dowd and even Reed.....stuck with it a little longer....but still early thirties is young. Can't do it forever.

Wasn't he riding an FMF supported Suzuki in a few of the '77 125 nationals, before getting a Yamaha ride in '78 ?

Wardy is a good one. I was going to say Barnett, but then I remembered the Kawi days...

Then Glover...and damn, the KTM deal....

Didn't RV say something about the GP's, Jeff? Sure hope so. Love to see RV win a world title. That would, in my opinion, put him ahead of RC as the GOAT.

I don't think Ward started his pro career on Kawi.

As for RV winning an world title, that would be crazy. If RV wins out the SX and MX championships until he retires, then goes and gets a MX1 championship, that would be crazy. Not sure if he goes ahead of RC. He'd be the closest guy for sure though. Even if he doesn't go race the GP series, if he wins out, I think he still goes down as the 2nd best all around rider of all time, close behind RC.

Ward did one year of Suzuki in 78 according to the AMA Hall of fame.

I'd love it if the Racer X vault had some more stuff added to it tho I'm sure it's not cheap to spend all that time doing stuff... Bikes/Teams would be a cool addition tho!

Actually it does have bikes if you goto Individual Race results. Teams and maybe bring that data to the championship pages?

I went ahead and retired before turning pro (no chance anyway) and started a commercial fire protection company. Much less glamorous.

Hoping he can do 1 or 2 seasons in GPs.

Right now he has won everything but that, that would place him higher in the all time ranking, maybe even #1.

People should tell him that Italy, south of England or south of France are awesome places to live.

you don't think there's even a small chance that he might do a season in GP's before he walks away from the sport for good? he has talked about doing so- maybe just a case of RV telling us 'euros' what we want to hear?

personally would love to see it happen! but think its unlikely

If he did come over to do a full gp series i dont think he would win the title though- he would win a few races but no way that he could beat cairoli or herlings to the championship at his first attempt. Thats why i think its unlikely- if he committed to doing the gp series after retiring from ama racing he would want to win a title- i think it would take him at least 2 seasons to win (if at all) over here- would love to see it though!!!!

I agree, RV needs to Race GP's to be ranked above RC as All time best racer...but just can't see it happening. He may not even care, he's mentioned before records don't bother him (could just be down-playing it)..

I also think he'd have a very good chance at the title in MX1.

If he retires at the end of 2015, that will leave him young enough for one, maybe two comebacks?

Jean-Michel Bayle? I can't remember him on anything other than a Honda during his MX career. Might be wrong though!

I saw an interview, more than once, where he said he'd like to do "some GP stuff" after he was done here.

I see no reason for him to say that if he didn't intend on trying it... definitely not the type to say it for no good reason.

2Strokerider , Rebus.....

I'm not sure what to think on what his plans may be after 2015. But I look at it from a logical stand point. And that is.....I doubt he does it. If you think about it.....it will be the end of his career here in the states and even though he would still be young in age.....he would have had to go through a very long and strict type of racing career. I think he would of had a better chance at competing at the highest level if he was to go right now. His career will be winding down at the end of 2015.....and I think " mentally ".......he'll be over it.

It would be an awesome sight in 2016 if RV decided to go over for the full GP schedule and see him and AC222 go at it for the entire thing. But will AC even be around then too? That's two years from now.....and anything can happen , but if I had to guess.....I really don't see it happening.

Look at it this way.....if AC222 was to retire from the GP's at the end of 2015......do you think he would come over here ( at the end of his career ) to do the full national series? I don't think so. Why tarnish a legacy? I think RV would feel the same way.....why take a chance at tarnishing his career?

I'm with you guys though......I really , really hope he does!

I think Villo hates the sport.

When he's done, my feeling is that he is done for good.
