What's the purpose? Someone does a double backflip so now we have to do a triple, if someone lives through that we do a quad until enough people die. At some point there is zero style and flow left, it's happened with snowboarding, skateboarding, BMX. It just becomes tucking into a robot ball and hucking. Pass.

Oh yeah, a front flip is just not important from the start, two is less.
What's the point of anything really?

Anyone else thinks this is kinda pointless when they have to use the ramp to get the rotation?

The official Nitro Circus facebook page posted this:

"As everyone knows one of our athletes, Bruce Cook was injured during the Hamilton show last night. He under went surgery this morning, surgery went well and he's recovering with friends and family. We will keep you posted on his progress."

I haven't heard anything else, and none of the other nitro people I follow on twitter mentioned it, just Cam McQueen. Sincerely hope he isn't paralyzed.

Man, that was brutal. He was so close too. . . Hopefully he can recover quickly, I hate to see that happen to anyone.

That was a horrific impact. I hope it wasn't life changing.

That video didn't even make it look as bad as it was. When he under rotated he drove his ass into the ramp and all the force went straight up his back. The Circus has a closer up video from the show that is brutal.

He was conscious the whole time and was waving to the crowd with both arms from the stretcher. Just a guess but I don't see how his lower back could have survived. I have my fingers crossed that here is no paralysis. They didn't say at the show.

On a side note, if you get a chance to see one of these shows that show was unbelievable. I assumed that the tricks would be tamed down but they just kept stepping it up as the show went on. There was a few firsts last night and one and onlys. They do a fantastic job of making the show children friendly. The skateboard ramp is ridiculous. I hit the TO supercross every year but this had me smiling the entire time.

I also got a huge laugh at Travis's energy. He truly does have ADD. He was running around the whole show like a chicken with it's head cut off. They also grabbed 3 people from the crowd and did a 3 person MX backflip and a two person bicycle back flip that didn't end well. Everyone was fine but I don't possible see any way they couldn't be plants as this was way too dangerous.
No thanks. I have zero interest in it. Good for Travis, and Nitro Circus, But I refuse to support them. As someone else said, they're hell-bent on trying to kill someone.

Those are kind of my thoughts as well. Good for them and their success but I feel like something like this or worse is almost inevitable and I don't want to be watching when it happens.

As much as I like freeriding or stylish racing, I am now totally over "modern freestyle" or ... stunt.

Plus a significant percentage of people who attend these events know nothing about bikes & are somehow expecting that the worst happen ! Not the freestyle original mindset !

I wish Bruce the best. I also hope that this so called entertainment fades out real quick because the consequences of not pulling off a trick are just too great. Josh Hill might have had a championship by now if he wasn't sucked into this freestyle craz. These kids can obviously do so much more with their lives and leave a positive impact doing it..
