I thought it was funny. They already sold out to the man...
I am glad that MotoXXX existed. They were what the sport needed, and they personified a genre that previously had received zero exposure.
But I agree that it seems as though there is some "trying too hard" going on. I realize that Jordan is punk through and through and not some black sock wearing poser, and I like all of the bands he has been in over the years, but there is nothing punk about the tactics and direction of the relaunch. PBR motoxxx shirts? I say this with all earned respect but you guys are better than that! Your list of riders is so very impressive, and you did do so much more for our sport than 99% of the teams that have ever existed. What you need to do is embrace the heritage that motoXXX has, not just make some buster ass tshirts that lame kids would wear.
I respect what MotoXXX was the first trip around, now it just seems like a tshirt outlet for 909 flatbillers.
For what it's worth, I am 31, former pro, aviation professional who loves punk and bucking the trends.
(Off topic, Jordan check out "A Band Called Death"... you'll like it.
It sucks that teams leave sometimes. I'm sure that 98% of us would be super stoked to have a Moto XXX Semi back in the pits. I'm down for buying a T-shirt cause I get as nostalgic as anyone, but how many t-shirts are you gonna need to get a team together man? Don't get me wrong It's rad you're making this stuff available to the public. I was just wondering if there was a plan or a dollar goal you're trying to meet?
Like for instance a group I like (Grouch and Eligh) are having a kickstarter for their upcoming album and they're goal is 50k. Is there a goal for Moto XXX? Not trying to get all in your business jus wonderin.

Some nostalgia yes, but we are not kids anymore.
Not my bike
MAKE FILMS.
PUT OUT NEW CONTENT.
Obviously that can't be funded by DVD sales anymore, but in my head, Moto XXX was a kick ass video series. So bring that spirit to the internet. Make it relevant. Make something new!
Imagine how many views a MotoXXX film or 'edit' (I hate that term) of Jlaw riding in the hills would get? Not to mention the message board melt downs.
What about some fresher blood? Is there an aspiring 18 year old Seth Enslow out there? Build a crew again.
In my head, it was the videos that sold Moto XXX to me and 15 years later with video content the currency of the internet, the only MotoXXX video I've seen was a retrospective edit. Which is fine, but as an old fan, I want to see some fresh goods. Nostalgia will only go so far.
Certainly you will capture some of the nostalgic crowd but that won't sustain you. You need to reinvent, not just re-package and re-stock. Most of your core audience from the 90's wouldn't wear that stuff anymore and I'm not sure the new generation "gets it" like we did 15 plus years ago so who are you targeting? It's not that no one appreciates what you did for the industry or is disrespecting you, it's because we're all grown up with kids and careers of our own. Back when you were at your peak I had MC earrings, bleached hair, six pack abs and an attitude. Fast forward to today and I have no earrings, no hair, no abs, a wife, 2 kids and a business. "Punk Rock" was the cool thing back then because it was new, hardcore and "unique just like everyone else". I'm not sure it's the same today.
I'm sure there is a way to reintroduce your brand to the market but your current approach might need some tweaking.
That's my .02 but I could be totally wrong so take it with a grain of salt. Good luck either way.
I think your ad is retarded and so is your whole company's MO. I'm sure the 13 year olds think your shit is super, but anyone who has any money to spend won't be buying your T-Shirts? or whatever it is that you're selling.
this from someone NOT an Obama loving yuppie!
When I see someone try to come off all "hard" and rebellious or "against the grain" or however you want to term it....all I see is a person with a Nepolian complex trying to get respect through fear.
Right on Jordan! do your thing!
and fuck yeah, JLaw!
Pit Row
Not surprising though.
We need companies like motoxxx in this sport to try and grab some of the younger kids who think they're "hardcore". I think the mire people in the sport the better.
It's not my cup of tea (same with the Mulisha), but meh? Not something to get diaper rash over, even if the OP's banned/rebel vibe is a little hysterical.
Regis - "They are being different from everyone else and shocking the people that can't handle something edgy."
I don't think anyone would find this "shocking," just unprofessional. And I agree with Huevos 100%.
there is no fucking way they're going to run a santa with his beard askew and his teeth bloodied.
it's your prerogative to run whatever ad campaign you want, and it's a magazine's to publish whatever they see fit as well.
what is the issue here?
Make another video (without any of the lame Cali bro scene) and maybe you will earn back the respect Moto XXX used to have. As it looks to me you bros are just a t-shirt company that's trying to ride on respect you had ten years ago. You gotta bring something new to the table, or us "haters" will continue to hate. I've been into punk my whole life, I just don't see what is going on from a business standpoint...nor do I see what is so punk about Moto XXX as a brand right now.
Take some pointers from Little Devil Bmx...they had the team, and probably the coolest t-shirts ever to be in bmx, and the had "666 Genuine Evil" and they couldn't keep them in stock....Oh and their videos weren't bad either (Think criminal mischief)
Sometimes less is more.
