Cool concept (half mile long no-corners supercross track), it would be neat to see the event in 2014.

I think it needs more mud sections and this thing.

It actually looks pretty cool to me. Head to head elimination rounds would get pretty exciting. Everyone would be scrubbing the shit out of every jump.

I think it's awesome. Not necessarily because it's the best idea, but because it's something new that brings in a new type of excitement to watching a race. I'm one of those people that is very bored with the current format, and I think a change needs to happen soon. A change to straight line racing isn't what I'm hoping for, but I think Red Bull is freaking awesome for their ideas, events, and originality. They put back into the sport.

May I ask why? I personally wouldn't like to see it replace supercross. But I would love to see a series of these events on the side. It was fun to watch and seems like it could be a good thing.

It was pretty cool to watch, and the riders had a lot of fun with it. Near the end of the day several riders (including Dungey) were sessioning the finish line double, and I think it's one of the few times I've seen Dungey riding and throwing whips purely for fun.

Hank, I think the Red Bull crew mentioned Excitebike as an inspiration for the event. Smile

And what venue would hold such an event along with enough spectator space? Maybe an actual drag strip with seats but obviously would never be go beyond that. Interesting but not much more. Stick with the existing format imo.

I don't think they want to replace the current SX format. Wink

Seems like a nice twist to me, it can make MX/SX attractive to people that are not interested in the longer race formats.
It's all about having fun and throwing some show for the crowd.

This format reminds me of the fast cross races that they had in Europe in the 90's that Larry Ward used to man handle. I'm all for switching things up. Maybe instead of a joker lane they could have a butt whip jump that is mandatory to butt whip or a 3 second penalty.

I think this is a good training tool, but not much more than that. Any kind of event would get old in a hurry. Kind of like watching FMX.

Clearly this is Mad Skills realized. I think it's rad, obviously because I love MSM but never could it replace SX nor is that their intention.

There's a shit ton of great Mad Skills tracks already out that they could use as templates for some ridiculously fun events.
