This past Monday night/early morning I was at my night job waiting tables on The Sunset Strip and I sat a table of 3. It was 2 men and a woman. Typically Monday nights are slow, but that particular night it was busier than normal. It might have been because Steel Panther had performed down the street @ The House of Blouse and Slayer played The Palladium.

Anyway, one of the guys at the table had a case on his phone that I vaguely recognized, but I didn't think much of it. They sat, ate, drank a little before moving to the bar around last call for alcohol. One of the guys started talking about the logo on the phone, Arma Energy. I asked him if he was with or worked for Arma. He said "Yeah", and I commented that they sponsored or used to sponsor a rider I am a fan of, Jason Lawrence. He lit up, probably surprised that me, some random Black guy wearing a pink shirt totally knew who Jason was. I said, "You must be Scott".

We chatted for a bit. I even went downstairs to my car to get my portable charger so he could charge his phone so he could show me some MX photos he had of Jason.

I told him about watching Jason battle with Dungey and Josh Grant @ Budd's in '07. Scott knew exactly the race I was talking about. He also shared some other funny stories about Jason. Dude is a true wild child through and through.

The last thing he said before leaving was that he was supposed to be going to Italy for a race over the weekend, but seemed doubtful that he could actually get Jason to show up.

I guess he was right.

Oh yeah, 5-10 minutes later Scott came back and gave me a 6-pack of Arma Energy and a bunch of stickers.

I never know who I'm going to run into on The Strip...

Back to topic... It seems as though lots of folks around here loathe J Law. He brings a lot of drama to motocross and people like drama. FYI: I could care less.

Cary,

It's cool....you won't be an outsider for long......Bytor was gentle on you...haha.....

Here's a link for some homework for vital.....http://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Moran,1239665

A lot of folks around here do loathe, despise, disrespect, etc JLaw........I try not to judge, personally.
It's no secret as to his mistakes, they are blown up proportionally on this very board almost daily. I think he has a great
talent, and wish we could see him use it on the top level.

However, the choices Jason makes as to his life are his own...and he will reflect on these choices one day ,right or wrong.

Peace and welcome to Vital

People that come on here telling others to watch their mouths usually don't last very long.

The JLaw fanboys are nowhere to be found. Peely, where are you, bro?

It blows my mind that anyone could be a fan of this scumbag, let alone take a shot in giving him a ride.

Wel, judging by this, the Gariboldi Honda team are wondering what happened too...

You know, I think this is bullshit. JLaw has been pretty damn transparent lately on social media and never said a word about racing this sx race. Wouldn't be surprised if he was asked and passed it up and Gariboldi said screw it lets make graphics for the bike anyways. Perfect way to get exposure. And its working. Ive never heard of the team until they associated themselves with Jlaw.

They're a pretty high profile GP team.

I've always been a fan but if he really did commit to race and then burn the team I'm not sure I even care if he comes back. It would be a great story and fun to see someone that's not afraid to show their personality but I am giving up on him doing it.

being a newbie to THIS blog (not blogging), I'm pretty fresh and up-to-date on the Posting Rules. Being a left brained and former military guy, I like rules as they help everyone stay within the boundaries. Please allow me to quote here now:

"We do expect you to maintain at least a reasonable level of civility. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Don’t post things that you wouldn’t say when face-to-face with another person. So name calling, insults, and personal attacks are lame. So is keyboard bravery. We’d like the activity to be more like Bourbon Street at 2:00AM, not downtown Baghdad at 2:00AM. This stuff should be fun for everyone, not painful."

" Show respect. Not only to each other, but when posting about riders, team personnel, officials, etc. If you can’t, don’t be shocked if you have posted deleted, or moved to other forums (like The Dumbgeon
)."

"Language: In the past, the only word we used to c•ns•r was c•ns•rsh•p. We know that some of you like the freedom to speak your mind…but keep the language reasonable. We don’t want to be the language police. And remember, there are moms, wives, and kids running around here as well"

Ha Ha Yet this one means nothing!

If you’re new, take a while to figure out the vibe of the board. Some of us have been posting together for ten years or more. It takes a while to figure out all the private jokes, pitfalls, and characters. Even if you’ve been lurking a while, don’t assume that because you think you know a poster’s personality or history, you’re free to heckle them on something. Make your own history…and make it a good one.

Jlaw was using a no-show at Genova as a tune-up for his no-show at A1.

Septovic posted here once that " getting Jason to a race is like the movie " Get Him to the Greek"

Doesn't really matter anyway, he's been out what 4 years now? He'd get embarrassed at that race.

Not sure it's the case, but there was a shooting at LAX that shut down the airport for the day... may of had travel problems.

But I highly doubt he was traveling the day of the event.

I have. Couldn't tell you much about him though. Still say JLaw would get them more publicity than Philippaerts.

Maybe I missed it. Did Jason say he would be racing this race? Or just the team claiming they were waiting for him to show up?

But he does get the attention. I cant believe you guys dont get this yet. All the exposure a team could ask for with out even dealing with a rider. Just slap some 3 3 8 stickers on the number plates and people will go crazy.

Have to second that. Gariboldi Honda had him all set-up by the looks of it. To not show up, is no bueno~.. To not even communicate with Gariboldi- FFS!!
