Finally one of these guys has normal fears about getting hurt. Its really surprised me over the past few years to see guys like RV(shattered leg) Canard(back and leg) Millsaps(lost kidney and misshapen leg) and Hill(foot) come back from horrific injuries to still have the DESIRE to race.

Best of luck to Christian Craig in his future if he is indeed retiring from racing.

I feel bad for him that he feels he must step away from his dream, but good for him that he's mature enough to realize when it's time to move on to something new.

Hey Christian- you should give Broc Hepler a call and maybe grab a pizza with him for some lighthearted conversation someday soon. I bet he has some good advice for you.

it's a tough decision , I feel like He is being smart, the best way to get hurt is to be worrying about getting hurt.

Good call and I am sure its not easy to make, injuries and lack of pay in this sport are a hard thing to overcome even when your as fast as Christian is. I am sure he will be just as successful in his next career!

this sports eats its young, and dumps them with little help afterward,

I think think the big difference is that all the guys you mention have or will be set financially from motocross other than maybe Hill. Craig was not in that position and did the smart thing.

I read this earlier on IG, good for him. I wish him luck, and when guys like him and B-Hep bow out, it's gotta be a tough decision, but on the other hand it's probably somewhat easy on the other hand. Getting any taste of life outside of the year-long grind that is pro MX/SX racing has to be a convincing experience. I could easily see how injury could do that to a person. Now he's just gonna be a fast-ass dirtbike rider that an have as much fun as he wants!
