Chad Reed 2014 Rumours?

9/1/2013 4:07pm
You guys really think Chad is going to step away from Honda due to a new gen bike he wasn't 100% comfortable on (and other issues) to get on a totally unproven and as yet to be developed new bike? Just because of a white front fender photo?

You guys need to stand back from the smoke!

Doubt we'll see him on anything other than a RM or KX or maybe SXF.

That said, when is the deadline for homologation?

Anytime before the season starts but they are not doing it this year...will want to save it for when they have their own bike.

Wont be a Husky.

2014 Husky's will be 2013 leftovers. That is what dealers are saying. Orders have already been placed and confirmed.

Once stock runs out it's likely that Husky's will be rebadged Husabergs.

Highly unlikely that Husky's will be rebadged KTMs at this point.

The biggest bummer is that Husky had entirely new bikes right around the corner that were late in the development stage. I believe BMW took the designs/prototypes/contracts with them in the sale. Considering it was the same design firm that KTM had do their current generation of bikes, it would seem a no brainer that KTM would want to get the bikes in development with the purchase.

Oh well. Either way, Reed aint riding a Husky next year.

Yoshimura Suzuki is the factory Supplier to RCH after Suzuki dropped support to Rockstar Team. Those are the Only factory Suzuki Teams.

That didn't make much sense. The new Husky line is supposed to be debuted in October. How can you say it won't be a Husky when this is the same company that produced a run of 400 new bikes just to put a totally new bike under Dungey? You don't think they could pull off getting 400 Husky's into their dealers by the mid-point of next SX season? The Husky factory team in the GPs are going to race something, certainly not going to be '13 leftovers. I really doubt they could have pulled top level talent to go out there and run around on the sewing machines they had previously run.

A lot of good points in here. I'm almost gonna be sad to find out what bike he is riding what's next to talk about in the silly season ..
So as far as chads bike.
1.Ktm . It seems he could get factory bikes and parts there.and still have team two two.
2. He said where can I buy a bunch of new 2012 honda's he could certainly do that and run white plastic and still have team two two.
3.Suzuki he ruled out RCH ( kinda sad)
But didn't necessarily rule out riding a suzuki.
4. Husky .. I have no clue . It seems no one is even sure there gna be white and would it still be two two ??
5. Kawasaki . Not many green teams
Could team up with pro circuit on white kawi and still be team two two.
Also he did a bunch of tweets in green writing if that is a hint ?
Take your pick!!

Husqvarna bikes will be very similar to the KTM bikes motorwise but they said the plastics will be completely new and they go back to the roots of the brand with blue and yellow. No news about the chassis. Romain Febvre already tried it and seemed really enthusiastic.
Of course, doesn't mean Reed won't ride a white Husky (or white KTM, Suzuki etc...)

I rode a brand new 1987 CR430 Automatic once, well it was 2 weeks old. Nice power but heck nearly shit my pants first corner I went into, I guess I forgot the warning about no engine breaking, didnt help I came off a hotted up XR600 either lol

The guy who owned the bike, loved it (although he looped it once showing off a wheelie lol) ...but the gearbox had problems with springs I think.

It's ok, your're 100% wrong. Honda is history!

For those thinking it's possibly a Husky, stop thinking. It's all KTM. No hybrids, no Husky efforts, no nothing, except 100% KTM. This thread is getting laughed at.

I'm really confused as to why you guys are still guessing which bike Chad will be riding. He clearly said he is riding a KTM and he even posted a picture of it. When he said, "90% sure my bike is going to be white," he meant the plastic color... Am I missing something or are most of you that retarded?

He's stated he's sticking with team two two.

I'm saying, two two could be on suzuki

I have no clue, nor do I really care. I'd certainly like to see him get back to his party rockin ways no matter what brand of bike is under him.

I hope you've had time now to understand what I wrote now Dean. That being I can't see him leaving Honda, to take up riding undeveloped, unproven and unraceable (at pro SX level) Husky's. Especially without The Man in his corner.

Sure hope for your sake he's riding KTM's. Might be a few eggs coming your way otherwise.Tongue

It's the off season, no one has anything else to talk about. How boring is it going to be when Chad DOES retire.

I'd wager my last dime on Reed riding Hondas for 2013.

What he does after that is anyone's guess......

We have not figure that one out yet. For now it's pretty much like guessing who The Stig is.
