I'm still a Honda guy, but I got to ride a Dungey replica at a demo day and was very impressed. It didn't feel top heavy like the older bikes. If I was going to buy a new bike I would strongly consider a KTM 450.

I could definitely see Milsaps doing well on a KTM. The bike is a proven winner and they seem to be in "money is no object" mode......why wouldn't you want to ride for a company like that?

where is KTM getting all this money? they produce bikes people want, they got 4 strokes, 2 strokes, enduro versions of each, road bikes, blah blah blah. you got a company that still gives a shit about people that want updated bikes and CHOICES instead of cramming specific bikes down peoples throat and you thrive. the japs havent figured that out.

Ditto on the bikes people want. I have owned 200's 150's and a 350 is in the stable now. E start on almost all
the bikes. The non pro riders are not restricted by cc size. The 150 is about as much fun as you can have and
it being legal. Looking forward to #18 and #5 being up there in contention for the championships next year.

Being a satelite team, the Rockstar team has to pay for the full factory KTM parts and services, where as the Factory Red Bull KTM team does not.

Is it really a sad day for Suzuki? Suzuki has always had a half-hearted attitude attitude toward dirt bike racing. They have usually had good bikes but you always had the feeling they were treading water to try and keep up with the other Big 4.

That sounds about right. I remembered reading in Mc's book about how no one showed up for practice sessions.


I'm definitely ready to buy a KTM now. They were all bad ass when I went to one of their ride days.

Answers:
1. Don't go assuming that Davi Won't be the Fastest guy at A-1 on a Katoom...or Monster Cup for that matter...
2. Why does EVERYONE say, "Sad Day for Suzuki"? They obviously didn't want this Team. It's a Business Decision & it's Their loss. PERIOD.
3. The folks at Suzuki (& RCH) just might have a trick up their sleeve. Think "Back to the Future".
4. Rockstar was very involved in this decision. They wanted to empower Bobby & his team to compete with the Factory Teams with Legit Equipment & OEM Support.
5. The "3 Year" aspect of this deal is Rrrrrreally important. Now the Team can focus on RACING. They can develop the bike with "Factory" resources (Which they haven't had for waaaaaaay too long).
6. Remember how AWESOME their Suzukis are/were...that we're built TOTALLY "In-House"? Well, now...they still have all those same skills...AND FACTORY PARTS!
7. Expect some REALLY NICE goodies on these bikes that might even rival other "Factory" Teams...including "Factory KTM"...
8. Welcome to Paradigm Shift.
9. This shows that Rockstar Energy Racing is going to be here for a while.
10. 2014 just got "Weird".

These pics coming out before the season is over, pretty big middle finger to Suzuki. Not that they don't deserve it for the slack ass support...Zook needs to get their shit together. No amateur program and now no 250 team.

btw...Anderson as kind of a lanky guy on that RM at 'Dilla with the yellow handguards...reminded me of Travis a little bit.

Half hearted? Suzuki is pretty serious about racing from my point of view. They always have a contender. Half hearted doesn't buy RC or Bubbles.

Edit - If you are referring to their lack of support for a larger amount of racers or teams, they are easily the smallest manufacturer and I'm also pretty sure they sell the least amount of bikes. Still, year after year they make awesome motorcycles (other than first gen 4-chokes). For the record, I just bought a new Kawi 450 so I'm not too biased. Wink

Other than lack of testing, is there any reason why Rockstar can't run the KTMs now? It's not like they had contractual obligations to Suzuki or anything.

This is just what I have always thought to be true, that they were the smallest of "the big 4" in the MX arena. I did find that RM-Z sales are up in North America by 21% so far in '13 as opposed to '12. Not sure where to find global market share info tho.
