Just put the next in line 2nd and 3rd in the 450s, and 1st in the 250s. If one can't make it (or if Roger doesn't like James) just go to the next one.

Stewart has been consistent this year and also won a national, plus has more experience at the Des Nations. So just because Decoster and him don't get along means he isn't on the team? I still believe Stewart is faster than Barcia for now and would be a better pick this year. Dungey and Tomac will do all the damage and the third rider will only need one solid finish. Barcia can certainly do a great job, I just feel that Stewart has earned it to represent USA at least one more time before his career is over.

"Dungey and Tomac will do all the damage and the third rider will only need one solid finish."

I believe James is faster than Justin this year too, but in a way (as you yourself pointed out) it's irrelevant for the required role this time. You already have two of the very fastest riders in the world on your team - all the 3rd rider has to be is someone who's, still fast of course, but more importantly consistent. A rider who'll knock out a solid result and backup the rides from ET and RD. On paper and in points that guy is more likely to be Justin Barcia.

If you wanted a spectacular victory or had nothing to lose because the other team mates weren't good enough etc; then by all means I'd say James is faster, take a chance and send the rider more capable of winning his motos with shear speed. I think JS is more likely to get involved in some battles on the track for the glory and thus take chances. You don't need that - the team victory is the goal.

Why send Stewart with his neck injury and risk him getting the team dnf's?

Has JB51 ever been on a winning MXdN team?

It is a blue groove track, and from memory Stewart isn't that comfortable when there isn't any grip. I would much prefer to see Barcia go. He did a great job for Team USA last year and deserves a shot. Plus he seems like a nice guy.

A few problems here... Yea he won A national. Stewart is faster than Barcia, for a single lap. We need a solid finish from the third rider, Really?? Stewart isn't that guy right now. Stewart is earning something but it isn't a trip to Des Nations, it's respect for competing the entire series and trying to find his place again.

Dungey is a no brainer obviously....Tomac is the fastest on the 250 at the moment, however although he has been dominating the past few weeks, he still has those days where he blows it....It can happen to anyone really, but Tomac has cracked on many occasions.....I agree, unless he is hurt, why not send Stewart over there....He is certainly fast enough and last year barcia seemed to be having a really hard time....

Dungey , Tomac , Stewart would be my vote....But it wont happen with Dickoster at the helm.....
