The GP of Germany will be held at the Lausitzring this weekend. Photos are below of it being built.

Can't say I'm a fan of these kind of tracks ,certainly for a motocross event.

That's outdoor supercross. Germany should be ashamed of themselves.

While the next round of the US Nationals will be running at spring creek, the world championship will be running at this.

What a load of shite.

I'm sure with the Green Party heavily involved in German politics, this will be German motocross now, and in the future.

that is awful... the first one looked bad enough , but jesus, there are 10 tracks in germany that would be a better bet than that.

I bet Cairoli will say its great though....
loads of chances to jump off the track and land on the tarmac, not exactley safe is it.

Another circuit destined to join the likes of Spa, Donington Park, Mallory Park and the Autodromo di Franciacorta in the "Motor racing circuits are the future of Motocross" graveyard...

So, do they have to jump through the turning blades, sort of like mini golf? Tongue

Wait... that is where the MXDN will be hosted? I'm confused... So it's an SX race? Daytona in Europe?

No, that's where the next GP will be. MXDN will be at Teuschenthal, which is a true MX track.

But, but, but, the pits (sorry Paddock) will be so nice, and wifi, and hospitality sections, and stadium seating half a mile away (oops, make that a kilometer or so) and and and TV camera locations. But, but, it'll be so mainstream......

That's not Motocross, that's a piss poor version of the Daytona SUPERCROSS.

That's like having an F-1 race on a Go-Kart track, like having the US open on a crazy golf course, like having the Indy 500 at your local dirt oval.

FUCK , call it something else, anything else but do not call it motocross because that is not what it is.

At least we can say that it is not a conservative approach to MXGP. I understand it is not a historical track, but come on, a european daytona is great ! (& Ideally we should have the F1 nearby to try to bring back the TVs)

I try to be fair, not to bash when there is no need to do so, in the past I remember a few GPs or even the MXdN 2008 that were with bad woody soils, but now the comments have been listened, most tracks & facilities in the GP are quite nice (i.e. Bresil, UK, etc)

I am embarrassed about this German GP. We have some really good natural tracks all over the country, and all we come up with is this bullshit man-made Supercrosstrack? Pathethic! But I guess Loungo is pretty happy with it. He can fly in, doesn't need to walk on dirt, has some airconditioned VIP-Lounge with a good view on the whole 1:30min lap time track.

Well done, well done.

The fact that they just a replacement of the Teutschenthal GP this year, leaves room for some hope that this will be a one time only event at the Lausitzring....

This isn't anything new, we've been doing it in the UK for years. Some of them even turned out pretty decent e.g. 2008 MXdN at Donington Park

That "Guiseppe who ?" video is a good summary, i'd say.

stay calm folks - let's just see how it folds out, the racing might actually be good.

Lets jump around like idiots!! The World Motocross Grand Prix Championship... Do I need to say more?

Strassbessenbach and other natural German tracks are ignored because they really wanted to ride at a "stadium" or at a Racetrack again! But Zolder and other weren't a success...

Guess this means all the GP riders won't have a fresh setup or the MXoN. What a shame.

Where's everyone who always rags on MXsports for changing a couple of tracks?
