Great job, Jeff.

For all of you people who want to blast Jeff about who authored this, keep it to yourselves. ANYONE in the position he was in would be a fool not to have every wordsmith and ally helping to craft this document. The fact that he took a couple days and then got help with it is the perfect first sign that he means what he says about thinking before acting.
Agreed.
ya, its called Public Relations. A term every team owner should feel free to look up.
Zero props from me.

There's PLENTY of other threads for your negative diatribe, but this is a positive thread started by Jeff with his apology. Respect that and post negatively ELSEWHERE'S!

Look.......I'm gonna give my only and last $.02 in this thread.....because I have a feeling some dudes will try and derail it the best way they can.

Jeff screwed up.....he came in here and apologized for it. It was a very well thought out apology as far as that goes. No use trying to throw him under the bus any worse than he already has.

I did plenty or wrong ( bad ) things when i was younger. I think most of us had....weather we got caught or not. If you did / didn't and apologized for it.........did you have people still slamming you for it? What would be the point of apologizing if nobody excepted it?

I still say good on Jeff for saying it. Some of you guys should lighten up.

I'm out.

Good job Jeff. We all have done stupid shit, and we can learn a lot from our mistakes.
Be careful about threatening violence on people dude, some people don't take it lightly.
It's a good time for your dad to apologize also, most people are forgiving if the apology is sincere.
7/23/2013 9:39pm
Glad you came clean and did the right thing. Everyone makes mistakes and a honest apology is always the right way to go. I actually felt bad for you and the way people were talking about you and your family during this. I tried to think of the all the stupid things I have done and how I got very lucky that I didn't seriously hurt someone besides myself. As bad of a thing that this was, it could of been way worse if someone got seriously injured and the police were involved. I actually believe good things will come out of this happening and sometimes things like these happen and make people better in the long run.

Was it wrong to do? Yes of course it was! But, I think he got more than enough punishment for a stupid decision that ended up hurting himself, his family and the team.

I think its time to delete all those threads saying terrible things about him. What good are they really doing? Everyone knows what happened, the fines and suspensions were handed out, he apologized and now all we can hope is a lesson is learned. I believe people can change and sometimes it takes something like this to make it happen.

Keep you head up, Jeff and get Mike to Millville!

It's a good thing that you had the balls to apologize, however you really didn't have any other credible option.

WTF were you thinking? Learn from it and move forward.

I'm sure those involved would appreciate a more personal apology, if you have it in you.

Good luck.

Jeff, that took some balls to own up to this mess, after the fact.
But you did the right thing by owning up to it,it's a step in the right direction.
Good luck in the future.

Good on you for swallowing your pride, accepting the punishments, owning up and wanting to move on. I am sure everyone wants to put this behind them and get on to what we all love best....the racing

Way to go Jeff.

I mean this with all seriousness.

Screwing up is easy to do.

But standing up and owning it is how you become a man.

Silly deal with the laser.

Bad deal lying about it.

Great job in the end for owning it.

Holy fuck batman! Good on you. Part of growing up is owning up to shit. Wish you would of done it sooner, but you did and that is what matters. I think you owe it to the parties involved to apologize in person. Was not nearly as big of a crime as what it was made out to be because of the way it was handled afterwards. I have a father that is intense like yours and I am sure that is why you went the route you did because you realized how bad you fucked up things for the team and Mike. But the sun will shine again my friend! Hang in there!

I think what exaggerates this situation so much is that MX is such a small community. And like family members, we take instances like this very personal.

Good Job.

Sure let's give him a pass since his girlfriend wrote a statement. It's all good now. Stay calm and duck down.

I've had huge f-up's, they were hard to set straight with the people I wronged, I can't imagine having to set them right on this big of stage. It was the right thing to do and wasn't easy I'm sure. Respect.

I hope your brother gets on with it, he deserves to live his dream he has worked so hard for.

I like what I read...Everyone F's up at some point..Everyone. What you do with this new knowledge or experience is what seperates us.

I know some that learn and use it to better themselves and then theres guys like my cousin....He could tell you everything you wanted to hear and make it sound sweeter than what Jeff just wrote only to do "it" again before the year was over and hit repeat. The older you get the harder the change...Good job thus far now back your words by learning and actually being a better man from here on out!

My girlfriend made sure it didn't look illiterate.
Good job with the apology and proper writing. It does not matter that you had help what is most important is that it sounds proper and that you are sincere.

Good to see Jeff man up and take responsibility for his actions. Also for his partner that proof read his original, and gave the masses less of a chance for another reason to kick him while he is down.
As someone already mentioned, actions speak louder than words. It must have been a rough day knowing your antics with a laser pointer managed to shut down a full national motocross team. If you put forth half the effort it took to write the apology letter, you may be able to help make sure Mike can finish out the 2013 season.
