According to the Saturday Night Live column on Racer X. I always figured they didn't like each other, especially after this incident.

and they had a shoving match at Colorado one year too.. I thought it was weird seeing them high five after the race

obviously matured, grown up, buried the hatchet, water under the bridge and all that

Poeple grow up. Reed and Chiz are good buddies now and looks like Chiz has very little to do with the Stewarts.

Villapoto's bank account probably makes it easier for him to forget old squabbles too.

Water under the bridge, for sure... I could never understand how that was considered a take out, though. More of a racing incident IMO

Good for Grant, hopefully he can stay healthy and ride to his potential and land on the box a few more times this summer. Kid has the speed and talent, just needs to stay healthy!

Much wiser to face the universe together. Grants always had speed in spades but lacks fitness. He always rips at Red Bud but hopefully he carries this momentum through the rest of the outdoors..

It'd have been a racing incident if Grant had been closer. There was more than enough time for him to slow down and go around. Instead he gassed it right into RV. And this is coming from someone who can't stand RV.

Grant can see RV's program works, so why not try to jump on that train and learn a few things....Grant and Reed were chum chum for a while during the SX - but I think they had too much competion off the track with whom could pimp their kid out more....You never saw RC or Widhams kids being thrown into the mix.....

The Grant RV thing from the lites days was a total accident.....Grant had nowhere to go and probably apologized after the race...

anyone that dislikes RV because he is cocky really needs to read that interview on RacerX... he comes across very humble and respectful regarding his competition. never makes excuses and gives credit where it's due.

very cool that he and Grant were riding together, i noticed the congratulations they each gave the other after the first moto and it was awesome to see

X2

Think Villopoto may be a bit understood bc of his intensity.

Dudes a beast but I've grown to like him and enjoy watching him ride.

With how competitive RV is I wouldn't be surprised if he let anyone and everyone who wants to come ride with him down just so he can steal their soul on the practice track. Laughing Seriously though, I was happy to see it. Like others have said, riding with fast people makes you faster. Would Mookie be Mookie without a James to train with? Maybe Grant will get back to form and mix it up more often. The kid is obviously very talented on a bike.

I was really surprised at the high fiving and stuff also and that he rode at poto's place. From the vids I've seen over the past couple of years of Stew, CR, and Poto's outdoor tracks in Florida. I'm surprised these top guys don't get together and ride at each others places to change things up. They all have sick ass practice tracks with huge cool jumps.

Maybe their common dislike of Alessi is stronger than any disagreements they've had!

Its not that he's cocky so much as being a real sore loser. He throws temper tantrums when its not all peachy. Thats why I can't stand him.

I don't get that either. Looks to me like it was a total accident and he had nowhere else to go. I didn't watch it when it happened so I wouldn't know for sure.

I've had a hard time liking Villopoto, but it's not because he's cocky. I actually don't find him cocky at all, he's quiet and lets his riding do all the talking. I just can't really get behind a guy too much who doesn't seem to enjoy what he does. Ricky ascended to the very top level of the sport, and he could always smile and laugh, and rarely referred to it as a "job" that was so hard and taxing, even tho it definitely was mentally and physically taxing. I'm under no false pretense that what these guys do is easy, but I think most of us would feel pretty fortunate to be racing dirtbikes and making a comfortable living. And in the end it's all about marketing the products you use, so you're sort of contractually obligated to appear to be happy lol.

Anyway, I hope Grant's time out on the RV ranch helps him out, I've always wanted him to do well. I saw a video interview with him once where he basically said he's 100% relaxed on the bike and that's what his style is all about and he can't imagine how hard it is for dudes to go out and ride who are all tense and not just flowing. I thought it was cool, made an impact on me for sure.

I remember both RV and Barcia acting like whiney brats in the 250f class.

No one's as bad as Bogle, in recent memory. I didn't think either of these two were all that bad. Barcia had his moments, and so did Ryan, but racing's intense.

If we are talking RAW speed, I would want Grant to train with me. I bet for 3-5 Laps Grant is just as good.
