So I just finally got my 250sx and I love everything about it. I used to have a YZ 250 and now the 250sx... and unless yamaha makes drastic changes to their 2 stroke, I don't think i am ever going back to blue. Well, I wanted to show my new ride and with the new graphics. I think it looks very Euro-style. Since i am not loaded, changes on my bike are done very slowly, actually, turtle speed sounds more appropriate. Here is my bike bought a few weeks ago and pics with the new graphics. no other visible changes at the moment. Next... levers, pipe and silencer....Braaapp

The throttle housing is missing a channel to keep the cable in place. They are slipping past the pulley and sticking at times. G2 has a deal going on right now so you can get it taken care of asap with their throttle housing. (I'm sure KTM is replacing them free of course, but in case you are in a hurry....)

Here is a post from their Facebook page:

In order to help owners of 2013 KTM 2 Strokes back on the trail, G2 Ergonomics is offering 20% off the Domino 2 stroke throttle housing while supplies last. Our throttles are same as KTM 2 stroke models 1997-2012, and a perfect replacement for the 2013 housing. Here is a link: http://www.g2ergo.com/dirt-bike-g2-ergonomics-products/g2-throttle-tubes/domino-throttle.html. Just choose "KTM", then "2 Stroke Models '97-'12". Then make sure to use this coupon code for the 20% discount and free freight - KTM2stroke2013.

IMO and only my own just in case KTM haters are reading... Absolutely everything stock on the KTM is better than the stock YZ except the suspension. The Ktm brakes, clutch, ergos, motor and cornering are amazing... even looks... well, for me anyway. However, the Ktm suspension feels harsh and soft. Let me explain... I am 185 and average speed depending on track and conditions. So, now that you have a semi- idea of my weight and speed, the forks feel soft and bottom out on normal to big jumps and when braking hard under acceleration. but when I increase comp damping, to improve the soft feeling, then it feels harsh and no plush at all at the beginning and mid-stroke on small bumps and rough sections. You feel a lot of vibration in the hands and arms. I have taken 10 cc out from the forks (per MXA recommendations) and it feels much better, more stable and no headshakes so far. Cornering is really good and it feels even better in the air. it is just harsh on some rough sections even with the 10 cc out. the shock feels good and stable for my weight. I have increased low and high speed comp damping and so far it feels good. The Yamaha suspension was much better because even when i increased compression for big jumps and landings, it still felt plush and easy to ride on rough sections.for the record, I kept it simple and did not mention sag, rebound, forks height, tracks condition. Well, hope this helps. braappp

Best bike you can get at the moment. I would do suspension first, then add that 300 kit and a pipe. Maybe some flexx bars with anti-vib inserts, and maybe some pegs, that's it!

Agreed! Spend your money on suspension first. You'll be glad you did. The bike is fast enough and the right suspension setup will only make you faster. I have a 2012 250sx and after having the suspension done it is a completely different bike. I'm 200lbs so heavier springs were in order.

Thanks for the report!

Sounds like you need stiffer fork springs for your weight. (and a 300 kit) Woohoo Smile

Nice bike, congrats!

It's only Wednesday, maybe you can mail order a new throttle wheel or do what Digger did and rob one off an old bike so you can ride this weekend.

I sent my 250SX suspension to Matt Hammond at Mx Tech Suspension and he worked some magic into the suspension! It will be a night and day difference feeling for you and i'm sure it will totally change your opinion on the handling and suspension of the bike. It is without a doubt the best money you can spend on these bikes and when done your YZ250 won't even compare.

Suspension is REALLY expensive - I just had mine done and did some shopping around beforehand. I personally don't think it's as vital (no pun) as everyone on here thinks IF you are in the average weight range (150-170lbs). Ride it for a while first, break it in really good, set your sag (and keep fine-tuning that even), work with all of your adjustments - get to know the settings. THEN if you really feel you need to drop another $1000, go ahead. My opinion of course.

Nice bike by the way - KTM is doing great things.

I'm digging your graphics as well!! I weigh 220 & & took 50cc out of each leg & went to .50 fork springs & the forks worked great.

Yes pretty much any late model 01-08 RM125,250 wheel will fit.

Just took this 5 minutes ago. I had my stock hubs painted by Hellion Designs & got white Bulldog spokes & black nipples from Keith at KSR wheels & laced them up to black A60s. I like them better than the SM Pro wheels that I bought this winter. PS. I wasn't trying to hijack your post & I definitely love how clean & cool looking your graphics are. I'm in the process of getting some Red Bull graphics for my stock orange plastic so I can change up the look of my bike from time to time.

Digger... yes you did hijack my post...Sad and yes... your bike looks stupid gnarly. Cool Anyway and Back to my STOCK girl... I called my local shop and they cannot get me the wheel by itself from the 08 RM 250. (I am assuming that the whole KTM recall thing is just the wheel and not the whole throttle housing and wheel) whatever is the case, the local shop can sell me the whole "CASE ASSY, THROTTLE" for like $90... The question is.... Do I need to change the whole housing and wheel or just the wheel by itself? It hurts me to just buy the whole assembly to use only the wheel. Besides, that is $90 less for my suspension.

I just took the wheel from one of my spare RM throttles & honestly the thing has been in the tool box forever so I assume that its around an 04-05 RM250 & I put it into the KTM housing & it works fine & when you look at the KTM wheel & the RM wheel you'll see why the cable will never fall off of the RM one. The RMs wheel is how the KTMs should be.

Awesome bike!

I ride a yz250 and tried my buddies 2013 250sx a few weeks ago, here is what I noticed:

1) vibrates more than yz
2) power is great
3) the brakes are AWESOME (aka, the best brakes out there)

Both of you might want to invest in some handguards so when you eat 4-stroke roost it won't hurt so bad!! J/K!! those are a couple of sweet KTM's.
