Speaking with some people I know, the conversation went to the level of compitition in Canada. Personally, I do not follow the riders from that area and do not know the validity of these statements. They were saying the AMA will tame down the track this weekend for the local Canadian riders who are trying to make the show.
The reason for this, as told to me, is the level of riders in that area are not compatable with the US riders. I wouldn't think it matters where you live vs going fast on a dirt scooter...

For a number of reasons, there aren't many aspiring Canadian pros that sign up to try SX, though there are many that could and would do well.
Toronto SX has had almost no local entries the last few years, this is probably an attempt to reverse that trend.
Oh yeah american fellows, don't forget to bring mirrors or old winchester gun to trade again some good old beaver furs!
as far a tough tracks go , did anyone every race the old Austin manitoba national back in the day?

I wonder how a dirt rider like Friese or Bam Bam would do with one of these dudes waiting for them the next time the "do the dirt" and have to step on the ice for their next shift ?
The other part of that was do you really think the AMA or FIM or whoever... would do anything different to the track? I understand you only get so many months out of the year to ride and hearing this, almost sounds legit to help the locals... wanted some local input and thanks for the ones who answered seriously. Just say'in
So I think it's more a matter of being familiar with SX type tracks as well as bike setup.
The other one is Nicky Beatty, who hasn't qualified for a night show yet in 250 East.
There's no way they would tame down the track for 2 riders. It's not like only these 2 would go faster compared to the rest just because of that. It makes no sense. Even when the 250 class was not part of the AMA regional standings (aka 250 or Lites East SX) the tracks were not tamed down.
IF the jumps are smaller I say it would be because of the snow they just got before they built the track and the possible lack of good dirt in the area. Nothing to do with Canadian riders or Canadian influence.. only weather and dirt availability.
