Over the years I've seen quite a few threads/posts here that complain about riders being arrogant and/or whiners. Personally, I don't recall any pro rider that displayed excessive behavior either way that'd warrant much attention. In fact, they seem often the opposite, considering the adrenaline/testosterone level they have to maintain to compete at that level.
Maybe I don't pay enough attention and am simply missing it. If so, who do you consider worthy of being considered arrogant and/or whiny? What did they do or say that makes you believe that of them?

Could be considered arrogant in their day, that is not a slam I'm a huge fan of all those guys, possibly part of the reason why.

Most high level athletes are arrogant and "dicky"...because they don't know how to relate.
Continuing, Ryan said, “I’m just over this stuff. I wanted to go over there, but I mean, I’m not going to lower myself to that. I mean the guy’s an idiot. Look at him. He’s getting drunk before the race. He’s an embarrassment to our sport, I think. People say he’s good, but he’s going to learn his lesson one day it’ll come. I don’t know when. I’m not a trash-talker guy, and I ain’t gonna be nice about it, but I’m just kind of over it…what happened in Supercross. The way he went about things…and any chance I get, I’ll clear his ass out.”
“I’d seen him and I was gaining on him, and I was watching him and couldn’t wait to get to him. At that point I don’t care if both of us go down, as long as I just get the feeling of cleaning him out. And you know, I’m not really that good at taking people out, but I mean it’s time to start learning. I think starting with that guy is a good start. Like I said, the guy’s an idiot. I don’t mean to be like funny or anything, but it’s just…I don’t know what you guys think of the idiot, but…moron.”

I just don't get it.
His old interviews were almost always the same. List 5-10 excuses of why he didn't win, then say "But no excuses". I was always wishing that the interviewer had asked what all the excuses before we're, then.......
