So, who's the other team or teams that thought RV was in the wrong?

We all know Suzuki was protesting, but who were the other teams not happy with RV?

It seems like RV routinely gets away with this sort of stuff.

RV was without a doubt the fastest rider on Saturday. But I dunno if he was the best racer. He doesnt make that pass without breaking the rules. Maybe he makes the pass later in the race, but there is no telling. The bottom line is that he was already warned with the penalty after the red flag, he should have been penalized even harder the second time because he clearly doesnt get it.

That said, the racing was really really good. Another very well designed track that aided in the show. It seems like this year we've had a lot of good track designs. Having such a deep field doesnt hurt things either.

This points chase is far from over.

Cant bet against RV at this point. That turn before the whoops was something unreal to watch RV hit.

Legal or not it was a classless move on RV's part, could have been a rider laying in the track right there, JS did the right thing and RV took advantage. Should have docked him a lap for the first indecent.

Agreed, even RC and Fro were surprised he wasn't docked more. Now, if RD did the same to Davi as they protested, thats another mistake on the organizers.

Yeah it was! In the heat race on the first lap I couldn't believe how fast he got around there.

I thought Stewart looked better when he squared up the turn and railed the whoops in front of RV even after entering the section crooked.

man you guys are all a bunch of pansies and is indicative of society as a whole. I thought we were men participating in a MANs sport.... whats with all this friggin whining like little girls about, Not fair this, and not fair that, I am not an RV fan anymore, I am not going to buy any monster products because they sponsor his team and the series.... good god! He was docked 3 friggen positions... let it go... this isnt the 450C class down at your local lame ass racetrack, he is racing, not riding, not enjoying the weekend on his dirt scooter, he is racing for a championship worth millions of dollars. So unless you are in his same posittion and out there racing for the championship why dont you all just shut your mouths and allow the snactioning body to do their jobs and just enjoy one of the best seasons of racing probably in the last 25 years!!!

Why single out RV in that situation, Reed and Barcia pounced as soon as they were by the flag also and JS almost went from 1st to
4th

The key there is that, as you stated, THEY WERE PAST THE FLAG. RV clearly wasnt past the flag when he made the pass. And he gets away with it because he's Monster's premier rider in the sport.

A rule is a rule and he broke it and, once again, got away with it.

I replayed it probably 15 times.

It was as beautiful a corner as Ive ever seen anyone hit.

And even more remarkable was that he did it on the first lap. No warm up, just 110% from the get-go. That is not easy to do at any level.

Stewart's pass on him at the same spot during the main was pretty clever. Both deserve mention. But RV's cornering there was just pure art.

These guys make split-second decisions while riding faster than most of our brains operate. Sometimes, in the midst of all this "concentrating on their riding" riders even miss white, or even checkered flags. I am pretty certain that there are times out there where they just don't see every flag waved by every wayward doofus.

Mos' def' an imperfect warning/alert system, but hey, that's our sport. I have been an opponent of headset communication between riders/mechanics in MX/SX, but maybe...? What about a more elaborate blinky light system?

The issue really is this...had the race not been red flagged, he wouldve been docked postions after the race was over. BUT...It was and the call was made to dock him 3 positions before the restart. He took his punishment and still won.

Now the 2nd pass was clearly made at the yellow flag, not the red cross flag that was 2 flags back.. I'm still unclear why there was even a red cross flag out anyway when the rider was clearly down in a turn and was actively trying to remount his bike.

Now as far as RD/DM, even Davi said it was his fault because he checked up early and didnt really know what the rule is.

Bottom line, the AMA needs to clearly define their rules and punishments and stick to the fucking things. Its pretty bad when the top guys joke that the rules are written on a chaulk board!

RV clearly was past the red-cross flag when he passed Stewart so no issue. He was not past the yellow but as we know you can pass on yellow. The only issue is why he was not docked positions at end of race for the first incident of jumping on red-cross flag.

You could see that JS was being professional about another rider being down and RV took advantage of the reduced speed. If the AMA expects to gain the respect of the racing public they need to handle this situation in the same firm manner as they do a jumped start at an AMA Pro Flat Track event. Anything less will lead to fans feeling favorites are being chosen by the sanctioning body and the sport will loose credibility. I would have to re-think letting my 7 year old compete in MX knowing that if he/she did well and made it to the higher ranks of the sport that they would find a political landscape that favored some over others. Shame on the AMA if they fail to act.
The AMA might consider a single file rule when a Red Cross is exhibited.
Back to the StL event, it was shaping up to be a great dice between JS and RV, and it was a shame it did not play itself out to the fullest. RV was looking great!!!

Classless? Seems a bit harsh. They could all see Kiniry when they rolled the triple. RV was also the furthest away from Kiniry out of all of them when they went by him.

Watch the pass again and you'll see after the triple they're waving the yellow flag. The flagger still has the red cross flag in his other hand but the yellow one is the one thats being waved.

I just heard Harley was about to return to mx and this ended the return. Ossa and Maico are very upset and ccm (remember them, they had 4 stroke mx bikes ages ago) will boycott ama racing for the next 20 years.
