2013 KTM 250 XC 2 stroke factory race bike

I know there are a lot of 2 stroke fans on here, especially of the 250SX so figured u might like to see the new KTM factory racing 250 XC for this year. The tank is bigger than stock so it has pushed out the plastics a bit so they dont fit as well as usual, but apart from that it looks pretty trick:



here is one of Caselli's 450 too which makes me think maybe I need to finally buy a 4 strokeSmile

A friend had about an 08 that was a rocket. I believe they have smoothed out the power on the oems a bit.

A rekluse on the 250?

Dont like the blue in the graphics but the rest of the bike is sick.

2014 production bikes will have black, not blue. Just for the RED bull sponsored race teams.

hey guys , if anyone is looking for a really insane suspension set up maybe i could help someone out. i just bought a complete ohlins set up for my new bike. and in dec i just had mx tech do the works to my 12 250sx, including double huck valves in the front sub valves , all new skf seals n bushing springs, in the shock i got his works piston new seals, spring , and head check valve , i paid around $ 2300, im selling it all complete forks n shock for $ 1550 shipped to ur door ! gotta pay pack the ohlins lol! the stuff doesnt have 2 hrs on it cause in nj its freezing! if ur interested 848 210 2782

Have you rode with a Rekluse?

They are rad on all bikes. I would say a must for 4 strokes offroad racing and luxury for 2 stroke riders.

any photos? What Ohlins setup exactly? looking for something like that for my 2012 150sx. Only trouble is I wonder if i would get nailed with import tax for Europe if I bought it. Can you email me at pierssp@gmail.com? cheers

Why do you say that? I have always been told that 18 is best for many reasons, not just less susceptible to flats. What would be that advantage of running a 19 in offroad. It's kinda confusing because it looks like the entire factory KTM offroad team is running a 19 but KTM sells all there XC's with a 18

i honestly have no clue but possibly the same theory of a 29" mtn bike wheel as opposed to a 26"? small difference but heres a pretty good video that demonstrates. just a guess

The 450 almost looks a little cooler just because it doesn't have as drastic of a black blob above the engine.

You run 18's to help with flats. Possibly in exteremly rocky terrain you get some extra cushion also. But the 19 corners better off road just like it does at the track. With a bib mousse flats are not a concern. None of the top offroad racers are using tubes. Heck..most of the top amatures are not using tubes. I have had the discussion with our rep about the XC's coming 19's. I keep a 19 rear to use in hare scrambles and at the track.

Most (if not all) of the factory offroad guys that are sponsored by Rekluse don't actually run the auto clutch.

The only conditions I think a 19" is better is hard pack, everywhere else an 18" is better, FOR ME. I think the 19", like a USD fork, is more marketing hype for anyone not racing pro SX.

I thought the OD of an 18 or 19 ends up being the same with the 19 being a lower profile tire

With the amount of $$$ KTM has invested into GNCC, you'd think they'd spend epic amounts of time testing wheel and tire combos. There must be a reason their pro's run a 19.

The factory KTM's smokers are the closest thing to a stock motor you will find in Pro off-road racing. They are just tuned to run like a 250 SX. That just means adjusting the port timing, adding an SX cdi unit, bumping up the compression(race fuel levels), and very mild porting. I have 2 2013 XC's set-up in exactly this manner, with the starter's removed.. It works well if you are an aggressive rider. I did my own porting, so if you can't do that it will cost you more, but I have about $300 (minus an aftermarket pipe- which doesn't add much by the way) into what is a basically a national level motor package. The only difference is that KTM probably has most of the tranny/gear train surfaces treated with some "super finish" process. I know they run the OEM piston and crank un-treated though.

There is probably not one part on Bobbit's KTM that you can't own.* Including the super high-tech Cone fork and TRAX shock.

...and no. Not one factory KTM bike actually uses the automatic. I don't think Taddy even runs an auto in EnduroX.


*I don't know why the tank on that smoker sticks up so high unless that is custom made by IMS for KTM, because I just put on an off-the-shelf IMS 3.3 gallon tank (which is actually closer to 3.0) and although it is kind of bulbous, it didn't create a gap in the side panels.
