I reserve next years KW rider for a weekend deal! Every time I have spoke with Kevin he has been a great guy and willing to talk as long as you want him to. By the way he was pro years back.

Nice story. The Walkers sound like great people, and they're even nice enough to check in with those of us on the boards. Too bad about the injury this year...the guy's got a record to extend. Cheerful

I only knew of Kevin from his LL accolades...sounds like he is one helluva guy...hopefully I'll get to meet him one day if I can qualify for Loretta Lynn's!

Isn't Loretta's a YOUTH AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP?

That's cool he was a pro once.....but ain't the Lorretta's thing like coming home from college and hanging out in you're old high school cafeteria during Xmas break?

If it was a youth Amateur Championship they wouldn't have the + classes.

I definitely agree with what TEggers posted regarding the Walkers.

This was the first time that I met the Walkers in person, and they are the nicest people you would ever want to meet. I just wanted to say THANK YOU again, to KW859 and MXWife for a great weekend.

The dinner Friday night at the Walkers was great. MXWife made some excellent lasagna, along with rolls and salad. You can’t beat a good home cooked meal when you are on the road and it is clear that MXWife knows how to cook. The dinner at the Italian restaurant Saturday night was a great time as well.

I was dreading the long 9+ hour to the track and back, so when I found out that TEggers needed a ride, I was more than happy to have him along for the trip. I had a great weekend, got to meet some new people, make some new friends, and race some moto.

I didn’t qualify for the big show, but I knew going in that I didn’t have a shot of making it, so I set some different goals for this race. I did meet the goals that I set for the regional, and had a great time out there racing on the track at the same time with some of the fastest guys in the SE.

KW859 and MXWife, if you come back down here for the Mini-O’s and you need anything, just let me know and I will try my best to help you out. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you guys at the track again in near future. It was a pleasure to finally meet you.

I've had the pleasure to meet and race (ride on the same track) with KW859 a few times. I've always spoken and he's always responded like we've known each other for years. The Walkers are definitely good peeps. Teggers is okay too.

That's a great point, you should totally tell MX Sports to stop running all those vet classes. I'm sure they'll throw them all out instantly based on your impeccable logic.

Me and my daughter went to the regional. I know KW has seen me around all the years of racing and chatted with me but I don't think he knows me from adam. On our way out on sunday he drove up next to us at a red light. My 11 year old daughter acted like she had just seen Miley Cyrus!!! As soon as the light turned green he waived like we were old friends. I don't know if he realizes just what a fan base he has. Truth be known, I was just as thrilled. All weekend I would see him at the line giving people pointers on the track. Believe me, I was eaves dropping. Great weekend! Great event! Great people!

Funny, I was telling someone about the Budds trip a few years back where I took your bike....on the way home, a wheel busted off the trailer at 3 AM Monday morning and we had to look in the woods to find it...the story starts at that point! ....and I did have a great weekend....got two (out of 3) holeshots on a 40 man gate! My confidence needed that!

I have a bunch of photos to post - about 30 or so...and sorry...it's going to be clunky. I've tried to do this before. I have not had a lot of luck posting photos here. I was trying to do a series as I came into the track....sorry 3 shots..

Very cool story Tim, sounds like a great time with great people, and you did well to boot. That's what it's all about.

I saw you at ACE a couple weeks ago and tried to keep up, to no avail. Didn't know you were such a badass!

Agreed 100%... No garbage in the entire thread! Awesome story Tim, I thought I felt like a factory rider when my brother had my bike washed and warmed up and waiting for me at our track the other day, your deal was the BEST!!!
