Is hill gonna be the SX only rider I have been hearing about? Sx only sucks. Hopefully Chiz gets a ride for indoors and out.

I would say that clearing the fuzziness here would be to recognize that what most people are saying is that perhaps it was a pretty even choice "potentially", but all things considered, this is the team that is most concerned with marketability and what the sponsors may or may not want... Hell, look at all the stuff that Shift has been doing with him in the off season & all the media he gets on his own while not necessarily even having a team... IMO that is what would've weighed the scales in Hill's favor, the guy is a pretty big draw, great comeback story, and just a great/ hard working/ positive/ easy going rider & person... not to say that Chiz is not, but Hill has got him covered I believe in the marketing department... Thats not even to consider what others have said, being that Hill is just one of "those guys", someone who previously could run the pace of the fastest guys in the world, & with all the time & money H&H has invested in him betting that he could get to that point again, it would be a damn shame for them if he went to another team and was able to run up front... In the end Hill is nothing but absolute positives with exception of injury

Chisolm? Who's that guy? j/k....Its cool for Josh but Chisolm would have been a better pick IMO. I just dont understand why the same guys keep getting rides when they dont get the results. For example Peick is a guy that deserves that ride, or at least a good ride somewhere...

I know Hill is a wildcard but I hope he stays healthy and does well this year.

This could be the best thing to happen to Chiz. Hopefully it motivates him and helps him progress and get closer to the front. Besides, the RCH deal for the 2nd rider was SX only wasn't it? What was Chiz gonna do when Hangtown rolled around? This way he has all year to prove himself. Chin up Kyle!

As for RCH, the transformation of H&H to RCH may have been a great business move for Cary but somehow to me it feels like he lost credibility when the name of the team he started changed. I wonder how much of Hansen's current job status had to do with Ricky Carmichael. I digress.

Jeez.. Some of you guys are pretty harsh.
Hill may not be a threat for the podium, but this shows some loyalty to a guy who has been through a lot.
Moto fans are quick to forget, and it's true that to most people you're only as good as your last race..
Josh was riding on rails when he was teammates with JS7 up until he wadded up doing the backflip.
Hearing some stories about what he went through with those injuries alone was enough to make me a fan..
Most people, even professional racers would have not been questioned to hang up the boots after going through that.
Josh has come back, has no feeling in his toes and wraps his blistered foot like a mummy before each Moto.
The dude has heart, or else he'd be doing something else by now. Lets see what he can do with a bad ass bike..
Oh yeah, and RC and Carey Hart in his corner, with Broc Tickle to chase around at the practice track!

Hilly will kill it if he can stay healthy...

Kids got top 3 speed and skills... and all being hurt for the last two years would have done is make him want it more.

Congrats to Josh Hill.. Positive things happen to positive thinkers and with all he's been through he remains positive Smile

Kudos to Hart in the loyalty department. Considering they most likely got a bargain on Hill, would it be possible they would go after a third rider to race both series?

Their main problem was the funding on the 2nd bike, not so much the rider

getting a ride doesnt mean you are the faster rider, a lot goes into it politicaly and what not. even if chiz is getting 7ths all year long nobody will know about it other than the core fans, its sad but if your not top 3 you get very little exsposure from the places that matter. again us fans will know and understand how good 7ths are but we dont pay the bills . so again its not just on results or who can put down a faster lap time, it goes in a lot deeper on the political and marketing side of things,

No disrespect to Chisolm, he has a lot of talent. However, he has had some good rides and has been unable to push to the next level. Josh Hill is a wildcard, but he definitely has the potential to run with the top 5, is well known, and is just an all around nice guy. I think he was the right choice.

^^^ this is where the rubber meets the road and it sucks for the guys that are asked to go and "try" out...

what are they trying out for???? to satisfy EOE HR guidelines for the factory!!!
why give them false hope when the marketing statistics are known before hand???? I don't think there was anything on or off the bike that Chiz could have done at "try" outs to change their mind ever...

in saying all that, pissed off or not I would not have put anything out there to burn any bridge with the many sponsors that the RCH team holds......

Maybe they took Hill at a really low cost so next year they have some extra money to go for a top rider..

Glad to see Hill get another chance, hope it works out for him, he has lots of talent and has ran with those guys before, so he has the talent and proven it, can he overcome his injury? I hope so.

What Chiz should of done is bite his lip and say thanks for the oppurtunity to try out, not publicily slate the team. MX is a sport where you dont burn your bridges, as someone said RCH mite be in the market for a replacement rider, after seeing that outburst they will probably think twice about approaching Chiz...

Ive been trying to figure out how this team went from 4 riders to 2. I guess 4 sx only guys is equal to 1 full time and 1 sx only expense wise?

I guess its all about selling a rider to your sponsers and Josh Hill has a past sx win so that trumps Chisolm in the sponser$ eyes.

Chisolm needs to stay at JWR if thats possible.

Hope he proves me wrong, but I doubt it.

Fun day at the track riding with @JosHill75 and @Broctickle. Dust bowl bc the water system broke but it was still a good day.

Hart said they are looking toward 2014, so that would make Hill a better pick then Chisholm but by the end of 13 MX season, Hill won't look so good with some of the 250 guys moving up.

Hill is done in this sport. Two years off the bike doesn't get you "top three speed", it gets you fifteenth in the race. He is fragile. I don't really care who RCH picked but anybody who thinks Hill is the answer needs a dose of reality. His days with Lawrence derailed what could have been a great career.

Hope not...but I was thinking ^^^That^^^

But...I don't see RC and Hart investing that kind of money without an expected return.
