Thanks. Just read the story and the background concerning the rescinding of the nomination. Dave Despain is an upstanding guy. Big Stones there.

Dave Despain is man of integrity. Total respect.

Time to create a new American Motorcycle Hall of Fame and the first 2 inductees should be Nobby Clark and Dave Despain.

Dave Despain is a solid guy. I met him some 20 odd years ago and was utterly impressed with him. His heart bleeds motorcycles. I had read the release that the AMA put out a few weeks ago rescinding Nobby Clark's nomination but frankly didn't pay much attention to it. Upon further investigation I support Depain's position and decision 100%.

Boy, I really need to print and frame that. I'll put Despain in my personal hall of fame. So glad to see someone of importance to this sport call the AMA's ass out on just one of their bullshit moves. Despain resigning may be attached to the Nobby Clark issue, but you can bet your ass that's just the straw that broke the camels back. Maybe DC and MX Sports will be next to tell the AMA to go screw themselves.....or is that already happening? I've got some spare room in my hall of fame.

Way to go Dave. Much respect to you.

RedBud kinda took a stand this year by not forcing their riders to carry AMA cards....yet they hosted a regional and a national. Thats a big stink in the water as well.

Dave definitely gets a tip of the hat and my respect.

Now here is the funny thing.

I did a search of "Nobby Clark" because I was not familar with him.

It would seem that there are at least 3 of them.

A photographer, a lead singer in a musical group, and the one that is very accomplished in Motorcycle racing.

So what about the other 2012 nominee's that have criminal records? I see one that is very obvious. Hypocritical bunch of fucks in the lameMA. Dean Adams better take a good , long look at the list.

As much of a codgety old ass that Dick Mann is, he remains one of the true legends of the sport. His resignation should result in the knocking of some skulls at the AMA. What a bunch of incompetent idiots.

This might be the first time I agree with you. Everyone complains about Stewart but he isn't alone in doing stupid stuff.

It won't bother me if the AMA goes completely away on the dirt side....If you can't do it right then get the hell out of the way so that someone else can.

lol, love this quote from KR

"And now I find out that Dick Mann has resigned. I just emailed Chris Carter and asked him where I send my shit back. I don't get it. If Dick Mann is resigning from the Hall of Fame, I don't need to be in it. It's bad that it has to come to this, but what are you going to do. If Nobby [Clark] doesn't deserve to be in there, nobody does."

With Dick Mann and Kenny Roberts out of the AMA Hall of Fame, it is now completely irrelevant. The AMA has been a failed institution for competitive motorcycle racing in the USA. It only exists for the people that work at the AMA to collect a paycheck from the dues people are forced to pay so that they may compete. It is time for a new organization to be started. It will be hell to get the FIM to disengage itself from the AMA and recognize a new body. Let the war begin. It will be a long hard struggle with many battles.

Final nail in the coffin, folks. The beginning of the end for the AMA. They will not be able to undo this fuck up.

DC, I feel for you guys....bet you're burning midnight oil working on how to work this "the right way"......

AMA.... RIP.

Downward spiral for many years, too concerned about the sense of entitlement that came with being king shit rather than proving you deserved to be king shit of motorcycle racing.

Don't know why they need the AMA in pro racing anymore. I stopped my membership one year shy of getting my life membership and dont regret it one bit.
