This PR just showed up in my inbox. Interesting...

TEMECULA, CA- Newegg.com and Tarah Gieger are proud to announce their new partnership. The Troy Lee Designs racer will represent the computers and electronics e-retailer beginning at X Games and through the rest of 2012.
Troy Lee Designs and Red Bull backed Gieger currently sits in second place in the Women’s Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. Coming off back-to-back second place overalls at the nationals, Gieger is eager to get to X Games and race in both the Women’s MX and Women’s Enduro X event. Last year at X Games in 2011, she crashed off of the start of the Enduro X and fought through the pack to obtain Silver. This year she’s going for Gold.
“Winning at X Games this year would be a perfect way to start my new relationship with Newegg.com,” Gieger said. “I’m looking forward to working with Newegg.com and appreciate their support for motorsports

Awesome. I love Newegg... and now I'll support them even more because they are backing the ever-so-lovely Mxer, Tarah Gieger.

I am also a Newegg.com customer. Great prices for Electronic equipment and small appliances. I know this smells a little Spammy, but an outside the box sponsor is something to celebrate. Congratulations!

Agreed. I tend to like to support (and promote) people who recognize the sport.

I still use Surf detergent even though Jeff Glass hasn't raced in a loooong time.

I stumbled upon Newegg awhile back and have got some good deals. I'll definitely return for more now.

I have been an "Egg'er" for more years than i can recall. Very cool of them to get involved in the sport.

...and speaking of Newegg and companies in our sport, ever seen the Toshiba monitor ads? check em out:

They're probably doing it only for the X Games publicity, but still cool.

Feld doesn't need to steal sponsors, they offer better representation, more of it and no risk.

Awesome for Gieger. Goes to show how much the "men" are leaving on the table looking for outside sponsors. They get 10,000% percent more exposure but yet she got the sponsor. Maybe she can open the door for the guys. lol

Ha. This is awesome. Love seeing outside sponsors come into the sport. We need many more. We need to make sure to support them when possible and also let the companies know that the reason you use them is because of their sponsorship of moto.

I know personally one of the reasons I use Cannidae dog food for my dogs was because of their involvement. Too bad it looks like they don't have much involvement anymore, but was cool while it lasted.

When I was shopping for a cheaper 40" LCD tv 3 years ago, the Toshibas seemed to be the best deal through Newegg. I ended up buying one, and it was partly because all of the display photos had dirtbikes on them. Smile

I have always been a NewEgg fan and spent plenty of money with them - I couldn't be happier to see them sponsoring our sport. Now they'll get my business even when they aren't the absolute cheapest (which this rare anyway).

Big money. That's an awesome hookup. Newegg is my #1 stop away from work, quick shipping and no hassle returns.
