Does anyone else think this guy is not the right guy to be commentating. He has made quite a few stupid comments that I know would piss me off if I was that rider. Does he honestly think these guys arent trying as hard as they can out there....Moron!

Yeah I think they are trying to capitalize on Bestwicks profile, hoping people who haven't watched mx before will respect him.
However in reality he knows sweet fuck all about mx, and sounds like it to the hard core fans.

In the 250 race, Emig commented on the difference from being in the lead (Roczen) protecting his lines, riding defensively, and changing up his lines following Barcia and Baggett, improving his lap times. Bestwick: "yeah, he's capitalizing on their mistakes."Dizzy

Dude might be World Class at jumping BMX bikes, but he hasn't got a clue about racing.

He needs to stay in his vert world or where ever it is and we'll stay in ours. He sucks trying to talk about something he knows nothing about. A decent commentator would atleast do his homework on the current news/environment/status of the racing, but it sure doesn't sound like he did.

Yea when he says things about people fading and how they shouldnt be getting passed. He sounds like most people that think you just sit on a bike and twist the gas. They cant comprehend how one person can twist the gas so much farther than the other. That or they assume the other rider has a much faster bike. Its like you do know there is skilled involved in all of this and that its one of the most physically demanding sports that there is Right?

Go to NBC sports web site and send them an e-mail telling them what you think, if enough people do it he may go away. Just lay out your comments and his screw ups in a mature manner. I doubt they come here to see what people think and to be honest myself inculded we aren't the most diplomatic. Anyway if they get enough feedback things will change, maybe something should be started on their facebook site about the poor commentating? Would they bring in Kobe Bryant to do the commenting on Tiger Woods play? Don't think so.

Dude hasn't been subtle with his disdain for bmx'ers as well.

Not a good ambassador to represent mx on a national platform such as NBC....or your local PBS station for that matter.

Bestwick is purely terrible...makes it sound like he knows how to ride a bike, puts down teh worlds best riders and assumes he knows what 35+2 is like(i don't)...he may have pedaled 35sec +2 in a race but that's about it...

If you have expectations of him knowing as much as a former AMA Motocross Champion you are absolutely RETARDED! I'm glad he's there. I thought that he was humorously different. For over the wall moto heads who are intolerant.....we know their position. Our sport needs to grow so we do not need to watch 3 different channels to see motocross. Good for NBC for thinking outside the box. If you do not take risk you will never get the holeshot!

I enjoyed him saying which riders didn't have it in a colorful way. Too much buddy buddy respect from the booth imo.

Vital MX nerds already know EVERYTHING about the sport , why do need to hear it ones again from the commentators !?

And to sit and complain about emig is pure comedy ! Don't you guys thinks he knows a thing or two about this sport ? A rider who has experienced almost everything that this sport got to offer ! Grow up or maybe learn a little more about the history of the commentators and the sport in general !!!

Why don't you sit back next time there is a live race and just enjoy the racing and don't care what the commentators say, your a Vital guy , you already know everything ! Right ?

I dont think anyone is saying that Emig is not a bad ass on the bike and has a ton of knowledge on the sport... the issues is that does not instantly translate to skill in the broadcast booth...

Yes most of us would sound like idiots if we had to talk on a live broadcast for an hour... but there are people that CAN do it (See other pro sports) and we should get new people in the booth.
