I'm not there, but I did hear a rumor of a body found not far from the entrance to the track. The source was good, which is the only reason I'm mentioning it.

Oh yeah...
Some twitter news.

General feeling of bemusement and also some anger here. There will be hardly any European MX1 riders in the gate for the Heat

Trying to download FIM rulebook...people considering their options, some talking about a 'less than 50% rule' annuling the GP itself

Only 11 chose to race. The rest are protesting the track conditions. LEIB and Antsie only GP regs racing.

So glad they didn't get the Nationals.

In Juarez this is done as a warning to stay away. This IMO sounds the same.

This is why people from El Paso won't even go to Mexico right now.

There is found a dead body on the main road to the track and Christophe Charlier is been robed. All his cash money, credit cards and official papers are gone. There is a big chance that he can't compete in Brazil because he is now missing his passport!!

People already disapproved the Mexican track the moment they saw the pictures because it was a supercross track on steroids. The real motorcross fan wanna go back in time and see the guys battle on real motocross tracks without jumps on every square inch! Back to Roggenburg and stuff like that!

Wow! Sounds like a real life fiasco. I can't believe anyone decided to have a GP in mexico right now. That place is lawless with the cartels running things. No joke.

When I first read about a GP being held in Mexico , I started thinking it may of been a bad decision to do so. This was the exact reason of why I thought this way.

For the safety of all the rider , teams , TV crews and everyone else behind the scenes , I would vacate that area and not come back.

What Sherwood posted above is exactly what I had heard too in the past. I may be up here in Oregon , but I'm in the construction trade and have been for 20+ years....I have worked with 100's of Mexican dudes. It's been quite a while when one of the guys told me about " If they want you to stay away......they'll just throw a dead body at the end of your driveway"........This sounds EXACTLY like that! Could be a coincidence I don't know??.........But is it worth the risk of someone getting murdered?

This really sucks for the Latino people who probably really wanted to see the race. Looks like the bad guys won again. Or at least they are winning.

Even though it was a completely unrelated incident those 18 bodies found at the lake 30 minutes away is a FOR SURE sign that shit is going down to close to home. I said if I was a rider I would lock myself up all weekend with eyes all around.

If Bernie Ecclestone and Jenson Button get robbed right outside the gates of Interlagos in Brazil how could people NOT see this coming?

His girlfriend was Brazilian. That's where I messed up.

Jenson still got robbed though. He even said afterwards he still supports the Brazilian GP. Of course Mexico doesn't have an Ayrton Senna or years of history in the sport of MX to change someone's opinion of future safety.

I went to ride MX in San Felipe a few months ago. Super chilled down there. We went a few months before with our families too.
I love Baja...

My best friend was shot in Mexico 2.5 years ago while prerunning the Baja course (survived, thankfully.)

F that place. It's a 3rd world country for sure.

Feel bad for Sebastian but if the riders feel it is unsafe it is in thier best interest to decline to compete.

Sounds it's not great, but that the rumor mill is picking up speed. Maybe wait for facts.

A lot of being in Mexico is not being in the wrong places. Like most countries.

Yeah dead body around the area and a massacre not far from there......I would be on the next plane out before I became moving target practice..... not worth it..... it was never worth it to go to Mexico....

I am sure this is a justified sacrafice for World Domination, right Luongo...... I hope these mistakes ruin him and someone else gets the rights to promote the GPs.

Who in their right mind would think that a race in Mexico would be a good idea?

How was the attendance for today? I read somewhere Tortelli is hoping 30,000 plus. Sounds like a bit of a stretch.

As for the track if its too sx, im sure they can knock down a few jumps. Yeah its crazy to have a mx race there with all the violence going on in that country. Back in the 80s it was the colombians with the drug cartels now the mexicans have that problem, sad.

attendance wasnt 30,000 for sure but the vip areas were packed as well the 1 of the 3 grandstands but saturday in mexico is a work day and i would guess there will be a lot more persons tomorrow. i think too much drama is being made of this paul mccartney just played here last week and nothing happened.
