I don't think 24-0 is possible. RV included.

But lets look at this for a second.

When has Reed ever been as fast as James outdoors???? Never.

You cant tell me Reed has stepped up that much in the last four years. Because he hasn't.

Reed couldn't hold a candle to James in the nationals, but he was a lot closer in speed in SX.

Now, Reed was running with both the Ryans last year.

So there is a little gauge on where James speed should be, if he is on a bike he is comfortable on and has the endurance to last.

Has father time caught up with James, sure. But he is still one fast mofo on a dirtcycle.

You got some serious huggin goin on there
Didnt say that. But James has more speed then Reed and always has, which would put him up front with the Ryans.

Unless he has fallen completely off I highly doubt he wont be in the championship hunt.

No nut hugging but speed is speed. James will battle for wins for sure.

Blah blah blah blah blah. All great athletes always come under scrutiny from the public. Stop trying to over-analyze the situation. James is great for the sport and is also a great rider. Everyone goes through rough patches.

Serious question, in your opinion, why is James great for the sport or as others say the sport needs him?
Well, we're trying to go mainstream and what is more mainstream than breaking contracts, getting your team manager (or coach) fired, getting charged with a felony (the red and blue fiasco) or flossing in ridiculously expensive cars? I'll go one more and wonder if James hasn't dogged it on his teams as NBA stars will when unhappy with their deal or current coach. (See Carmello Anthony or Dwight Howard this year). I bet he's been riding a Suzuki for weeks even as he tells JGR his hand is too hurt to race. Rumor is he is pissed that J-Bone "MADE" him ride a few weeks ago.

Good for the sport? JGR wanted James at Seattle for the fans, autograph signings, dealer appearances....and he said no. Is he in Salt Lake greeting fans and supporting the sport? The biggest "attention" he brought to the sport is when he got arrrested last year. Google it and see how many mainstream news stories exist on it.

It is great to have another fast guy at the races. I'm glad he will be out there (if he will be).

BUT he has been BAD for the sport by sitting out the Nationals. Doesn't that support the lack of importance of the Nationals....which most of the sport considers the backbone of it? He has been BAD for the sport by getting arrested. His inability to finish a contract has now become something of ridicule and is in no way GOOD for the sport. There is no proof that he adds attendance figures. The race is what draws attendance, not James. Atlanta SX will sell out all the same out after he retires.

Most of all, because he is an incredible talent, one of the handful of the best ever, and any race that he is at, especially when everything is sorted, is a better and more interesting race.

He is also a person of color, like most of the rest of the world, whether he likes that mantle or not, and that causes people who wouldn't otherwise identify with the sport take notice of it. The more people who take notice of the sport, the better it is for the sport at the professional level because it runs on money, lots of it, and the more the sport is an attraction to a broader audience, the more it is attractive to sponsors and advertisers.

Half the attitude people don't like here are words his fanboys speak that people put into Stewart's mouth. The guy generally handles himself pretty well. He doesn't say anything more provocative than RV, RC or Reed have and do, but yeah he's not as self effacing as Canard or Dungey. So what.

There's no doubt his racing program is in shambles, and he bears as much responsibility for that as anyone, and people can be as disappointed with that as they like if they have the time and energy to give that much of shit about something they don't control.

Racism isn't all of the reaction against him on this board, but it is a part of the dynamic of why he is so polarizing on and off the boards. You're kidding yourself if you think there are people slagging on him on this board who are not racist or bigoted either out of malice or ignorance. And you're in denial if you think he and his family haven't been confronted with overt expressions of that over the course of their experiences in this sport, and that it has affected their perceptions of people.
one of the best, most thoughtful, and accurate posts on the legion JS7 threads...
FTE has a way of doing that. He often sticks out like a sore thumb, but in a good way.

WE ALMOST HAVE 259 RESPONSES!

Also, I really think we will see him on a suzuki, because it seems like if he was in his Yamaha contract he would opt out of the nationals based on how him and the bike are getting along.
He is in fact being let out of his JGR contract. They are just working out the details at this point. Suzuki is his likely destination.

I don't know why they would try this hard to save face if the deal is over.
Awww, looks like the Legal Eagles got involved. i.e.:

"Some jurisdictions have retraction statutes that provide protection from defamation lawsuits if the publisher retracts the allegedly defamatory statement." Source EFF - Online Defamation Law.

oopsss moving to the correct topic.

Great for the fans, but he will NOT dominate. Dungey will beat Stewart.
