the faster the tracks and the more powerful the machines ,produce racers that will push it that much faster which in turn causes more injuries when things go wrong.also, the heavier the machine is the more load is pounded into the said rider if said rider is in fucked mode.
but this is what sells to tv . fast pace stuff.

And I do believe the Outdoors will be awesome this year, all 4 classes should be exciting.. The only run away I predict will be Herlings in the MX2 class, other than that multiple guys have a genuine shot at glory.
2010 was great, RV in it till round 14 then had major brain fart and blew it. No comparison to this year, RD out after round 9, 5 rounds earlier then 2010. Thank goodness for the lites competition.

Hope not but say RV eats shit tonight and is done for the year. Dungey is in second and could come back, ride around, and win the title. But you guy's would hate that also. Just admit it. You hate the sport and would rather watch jersey shores or post crap on internet forums. You find those things better than watching tonights race. It's ok. We already know.

Don't see Herlings being a runaway in the GPs. Up there for sure though... Also, like Roczen pointed out, be interesting to see how he deals with the pressure of being the 'hunted'. He was always in Roczen's shadow. I think its now or never for Searle. Hope he cracks it.

I don't think this seasons been a let down. Injury's are a part of it and more time then not riders get injured. It's just racing and every Saturday night, that the gate drops, there is something to watch.

Seems like a good season for Stewart to finish out on a YZ250. Probably do at least as well as he has been considering the thinning out of the top guys and possibly get a two stroke up on the podium. Maybe second in points even. Not sure JGR wants to go two stroke and YAMAHA may squash the effort but its still a good time to try it and garner some attention.

2013 + barcia and who else ... maybe wilson on 450? there are several Lites guys i'm not thinking of but imagine how 2013 is going to look. the wait will be worth it, this just keeps getting better.

I agree slightly because Reed will likely not be able to race outdoors, neither will Canard, Stewart may not want to...hopefully more of the guys will make it the whole way through nationals than sx.

Was it a good race today? I forgot to record the shit for the first time since I can remember. I don't care if the first top 5 guys are out or not...anyone who makes the night show is a fkin gnarly rider and deserves some respect.

I'm digging it. You're watching a champ becoming one of the greats. RV has grabbed the series by the throat and is a treat to watch. Chad would've kept it within 30 points but Villopoto has been the class of the field since A1.

He's shown the traits of a true champion all season. The ability to come through the pack when things don't go his way and the ability to take care of business when he gets a decent start. More importantly, he's shown that he can make passes where others can't this year. Looks like Kawasaki made a great choice.

For GP fans, it is an odd adjustment to not automatically expect Roczen to win. haha. I am curious to see the Barcia vs Roczen battle continue outdoors though. Hope Roczen can come into the Nationals with the same swagger he had at the end of the 2011 season. . .Convincing World Champ + beating Dungey on a 250!

yeah like things will change? canard, reed and stewart out. Only thing that can make it interesting if barcia rides the 450, if not zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. ill be watching the gps more, love the tight racing in the 450 class there.

If I qualify your statement to refer to the 2012 450 SX season, yes, it is a major letdown. Barring something weird there is no race for the wins or the title. Other okay stories still there, sure, but nothing to get real excited about.

It was an epic season up to this point. So the field is depleted, so what? It is what it is. We can do nothing about that other than to wish the injured riders well and hope for a better outdoors. Lets face it, being the champ means still being there at the end. If you are the last man standing then you are the champ.

Its great to see how this sport has become. All but one of the the elite are injured. Its tough. I really enjoyed seeing brayton and metcalfe carving it up with rv last week .It gives them confidence and heck who knows how the 2013 season will turn out. No longer is supercross as predictable as it once was. I just hope that reed comes back even better:-)

Worst let-down ever?

Hell no, what year was it that McGrath (Who I think was awesome) almost won every round? The only suspense that season was waiting to see if he did won them all. He didn't because Emig won a race, but still.

What you said about McGrath's '96 season is the EXACT reason why this year is such a letdown to me...In '96 it was a solid bet when the gate dropped that McGrath was going to come away with the win. This year, however the top 5 racers were so close in skill level, when the gate dropped you never knew who was going to come away with the win.

At this point, the remainder of this supercross series is much like '96. When the gate drops, it's a pretty good chance Villipoto is coming out on top...This weekend he finished more than 15 seconds ahead of 2nd in the HEAT race alone...I'm sorry but there is no legit competition for him right now. The only way he doesn't win is an error on his part.

I agree with you that the season has worked out that way for sure. In 1996 it was all season long and not because of injuries. McGrath was just that much better than everyone else. In 2012 we had plenty of riders capable of winning races/fighting for the title, but everyone got hurt but Villopoto. In the end it ends up the same.

I still think someone other than Villopoto might slip in a win this year. Especially since Villopoto is going to wrap up the title real early. He will have zero reasons to push it and chance an injury for the outdoors. That may open a window for someone else to win a race. If Villopoto gets a horrible start, etc.
