Yes its true. Im still inhaling and exhaling (at an avg resting heart rate of around 100,) Yeah I know. Im just now starting to feel human ( a human that was put in front of a firing squad) They really did a number on me. Not to mention the Pnemonia and Cdep I got while in the hospital. They sliced me open from my chest down to.....well you know. Took out lots of parts and then cooked my insides. ...Ive been one sick pup for a few weeks. Finally I have felt pretty good the past 3 days and perhaps the light at the end of the tunnel isnt a train. My immediate focus is on my weight. The other day I was 127 lbs, a weight loss of 23lbs in 2.5 weeks. I look horrible in the mirror. I walked (hobbled) Wink by a mirror with my shirt off the other day and saw myself........... Im not being funny now, I was horrifed, shocked, scared, I wasnt sure if I wanted to scream or cry. It was really sad looking. 6' 127 not a pretty picture especially with the staples and other scabs etc. I have.

"finally" found an appetite an am eating. Stomach is pretty small and sometimes eating actually makes me feel bad. So Im taking it easy. Just about up to 2k calories a day. Dehydration has been a problem but yesterday I got down 4 - 20z gatorades. . Im on a ton of pills. Antibiotics, pain, muslce relaxors and assorted pills for my plumbing problems. I gag on all the long caplet type pills and they get stuck in m throat regularly. fun. I have an Ileostomy. (temporary 2.5 months maybe) and thats on my side mid thorax. I also am still catherterized and pee in a bag. The one upside is I dont have to get up in the middle of the night to p. Smile Well thats it for now...........Thank you to all that shared your concern for me and Mom. Thanks to those that followed my journey. I have a number of stories to share in the coming days. Going back to see the surgeon tomorrow morning and will try pulling the Foley again (each of the 2 times theyve pulled it I couldnt pee in the alloteted time and they had to put it back in. Lil problem, apparently I have a prostrate the size of a watermellon and its in the way. There are alot of different types of pain. And I thought Id experiened most of them. But in the past 3 weeks my pain data storage has increased. I now know that many pains are Cancer specific. As is the pain of a cathertor banging against your Prostate as they try to work around it. I didnt bawl but my eyes welled up with pain the first time they did it. The next time I had the horror of having the knowledge of what I was in for. I was terrifed and rightly so. THAT SHIT HURTS.

I don't know the story here, but I don't really need to in order to give support to a situation that sounds pretty dog gone awful. Keep fighting.

Hang in there, brother. The next time I whine about being tired and having a headache and my tummy doesn't feel good, I'm going to read this thread again...

You're an inspiration to me.

Today wasnt quite as good as yesterday but not too bad. And I felt stronger. I walked about a 1/4 mile in the drive way. Back and forth a few times. Got dizzy and called it. But it was a huge improvement in just a couple of dayss. Now I will be able to track my progress much better.

Back to the surgeon tomorrow to have Foley removed. Maybe some staples removed and let her know how Im doing

Great to hear from you Doug! Sheesh man, you are a scrapper. We may have coin a new vital saying... that when ever someone gets dominated, hammered or stomped into line, the person got Douggied or something, cause you are an ass kicker mister.

Keep getting better, forcing the calories down, and fighting for the awesome future you have ahead of you. Way to go Doug!

Its good to have you back Dougie and thanks for shareing your real life "stuff", for a lack of a better word.

Are you able to eat the same type of food you did before or has your diet changed? My wife, the vegetarian makes some awesome high calorie soft caserole type dishes if you are looking for something that will pass easily through your system.

If you need food ideas, give a shout out.
