X2......I'm not far behind with a 98 RAV4 and 3 rail trailer. About 24/25 mpg pulling the trailer/bike/gear.
Looks old school-but hey, that's me. Easy & cheap to keep!

'05 F-150 4x4. If I take more than three bikes I pull a small 10-14ft enclosed trailer. Loaded like this I get the same mileage as empty, 16mpg. Bikes are '72 Penton 100 (red), '74.5 Penton 400 (blue) and '92 CR500. If I take only one bike I use the bumper rack, its a lot easier to load and unload the bike and it keeps the bike from sticking out in the wind stream causing drag lowering mileage.

Notice the vintage 2x10 lumber yard ramp. Someday I'm going to upgrade that baby to aluminum. I'll post pictures.

You sure that truck in a '93??

Looks pretty nice, from what can be seen, for a 19 year old truck!
Thanks. It is an unusually solid truck for spending 19 years in Illinois. They usually turn to rust balls before they reach ten years.

Damn...I thought my 2000 Ranger was vintage. And yours looks nicer than mine. But I have an aluminum ramp Laughing 4 Banger? I like the mileage. Want to upgrade but it's paid for and does the job...don't need a Bro truck. I laugh at the guys trying to unload their bikes from the lifted bromobile at a 75 degree angle.
HaHa. I don't get to see many Bros or Bromobiles where I live. From what I've read, I'm glad they tend to gather in SoCal. Cool

Sooo you get the same MPG empty as you do loaded, but when you only have 1 bike you load it on the back to save MPG...umm? Wink lol

I have the same rack on the back of my Toyota Hilux over here, It's a good set up. Like the dude above mentioned, it's crazy you guys times everything by 10, if you drove some of the vehicles we have over here with your gas prices you would be saving a hell of a lot!!. Is diesel pretty regular over there for smaller cars?

No, if I am only taking one bike I still use the rack because its easy to load, but unlike the short vintage bikes, the modern bikes if loaded in the bed stick up into the windstream and drag down mileage.

This is how i roll over here in Germany.
A 2010 Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie 5.7 HEMI, nothing special in the USA, but over here it is very special and a lot of people are coming by and ask about the car. It is also my family car, and my little son loves the Dodge.

My wife and I always take our three year old with us when we go to the dunes or the race track. We take the RV so we can have food, baby supplies and a place for our daughter to nap. We often time camp for the weekend.

Our simple three place trailer loaded with our bikes and the family friendly XR200.

We can't leave home without taking some toys for the kids. .

I drive this unless I'm camping out. She'll haul 3 bikes with the tailgate up. If I'm camping I'll take one of my box trucks.
