Maybe you really can't afford it but it does seem like a lot of people are using the fuel excuse to not ride.

Lets say your trip to the track is 200 miles round trip at 12 mpg. Last year at this time prices were around 2.80. Now $4.00. So roughly using that example it would now cost just $20 more to do that trip. If you cut just a few items out of the budget and you can find a way to ride. Leave the stock exhaust on the thumper and that will save enough to cover the fuel difference for the whole year. Take some sandwiches instead of stopping for fast food ect. If you really wanted to ride you can find a way.

You can get more electricity from NG than from coal. It burns cleaner and it is more efficient. It is just not what we are set up for.

That's a little over the top. If a Congressman knew that there was a cure for cancer he would put it out there because it would stimulate jobs and new industries, and make him a hero. I would agree that pharm companies have certain politicians bought and sold by the pound.

NG is getting pushed by lots of federal and state support, but the price of NG is also rising. It's not some magical elixer to solve the fuel problem, and subject to the same supply and demand dynamics.

Well I was thinking I would save some $$$$$$$ and keep the 06 KX450 for another year till I saw the 09 KX450 on MXA's site today. I'm headed to the shop tommorow to see when they are gonna start taking deposit's.

Gas is the same price as a gallon of beer and just a little more than a gallon of milk.

CHEAP for the amount of fun it provides in comparison.

Why is it that 110 octane is still under $6/gallon? Supply and demand?

Fortunately for me there is a track about 15 mins from where I live right inside city limits, they use to host Canadian nationals there.

There are 3 tracks and about 12 local races run every season. I generally pull a three railer behind my Honda Civic.

If it wasn't for that I would spend more time mountain biking. I do bike to work every day to avoid the cost of gas, insurance and a couple 100 in parking.

Most motocrossers would prefer to live in a part of the country that provides a cost of living that equals less than 40% of thier income. Maybe you should consider that or post on the mountain bike boards instead. Motocross not worth riding? Please leave. We have enought non racing, more less non riding posters here.

cost of gas sucks a on personal level for me but damn motorcycle/scooter sales are bitchiN right now.
ATV/offroad sales are doing OKAY, not like lastyear or prev. years.

If we'd have been proactive 10 years ago and drilled for our own oil then, we'd be laughing at the rest of the world right now. Actually, by raising overall fuel capacity worldwide, it's likely the current "shortage" and it's resulting price increase wouldn't exist.

Yes sir. Sure thing sir. I'll make a I'm leaving post just for you. One thing I failed to mention is that I broke my wrist 1 year ago and it's really started to bother my riding this spring. I think that's mostly why I'm not riding. Not entirely due to the price of fuel. I can only do a few laps before I have to pull off due to my wrist. That's more of why it's not worth it. I'll explain my shituation a little better next time just for you mmmkay.

x2 but no motor home but my f350 diesel.... ive spent alot of hours on the trail by my house making then more rideable as they will be my only riding for awhile as the closest track is 45+ minutes away...

That is why we need to up production now to stay ahead of it so its not like gas.

The other + is we have the majority of the worlds known NG reserves.

Thats a dumb comparison, how many people use 10 gallons of milk a day? It would be o.k. if I could go a week on a gallon of gas.

The part that you are forgetting is how the price of gas drives up all the other comodities.

For me the 2 new kids in the last 2 yrs makes it real hard to travel to races. If I were still single I'd just stop going out so much and I wouldn't care.

Oh to be single. Oh wait that sucked too.

Europe has a great infustructure (sp?) of mass transit. Mass transit sucks in the US. Its sucks in most citys. We have to drive in most cases. Hell car pulling is hard for most.

our 4 trips a summer 350 mile one way trip to Oklahoma sand dunes has turned into 1 spring trip and possibly 1 fall trip - might even cancel that and do once a year.

Hey, don't complain! We're paying over $6 for regular here in Canada and we've got even longer distances to travel than you guys in the US, since our country is bigger and we've only got 1/10th your population. It sucks, but at least the extra tax we pay on fuel gives us free health care. BTW, we send almost all our oil output south of the border.

NG's demand is rising and we’re not doing anything about it just like gas. Soon the poor won't be able to afford anything then the Socialist ways will seem like a good idea. Then the government will have to step in and stop the free market in order to keep from a deep recession. A Good recession is what is needed to put the free market back inline with the pay scales.

Its all messed up and Both parties are to blame.
NG's demand is rising and we’re not doing anything about it just like gas

Evidently, you dont live in the DFW. You cant turn around w/o hitting a drilling platform.
