What James thinks is normal on a dirtbike most don't think of... He lives in a video game...

And in the Matthes podcast he said something about making the shrouds narrower with JGR... They're working hard on that bike it sounds like...

Unfortunately I don't remember seeing too many 12 jump rhythm sections in the 2012 track maps.
I would love some to see some big options like this.

he's going to need those funky huge leaps to make up for the slower corner speeds he has now.

When DV gives you props, you know you've done some incredible Sh#t. I can't even do a rhythm section like that on a video game.

How did he make that corner?

Any mortal would have blown right through that left hander. Just clearing a section like that is unthinkable, but to do it with such control...Woohoo Woohoo Woohoo Woohoo Woohoo Woohoo Woohoo

whilst i have to admit that some of the things james can do on a dirtbike-he will never be 'the baddest dude to ever ride a dirt bike'

at the moment, that title has to go to RC- in my opion. Dude was an animal

A lot of airtime, and a lot of ground covered, for very little on-the-gas time.

My point has nothing to do with what they are riding...

That was amazing!

However, after watching Vegas, I think K-dub could do it too.

It sure looks cool and wicked fun - if you can do it, but I question whether it is faster?

Has anyone listened to his podcast with Matthes? He mentions a couple times that he asked JGR to try something, and if they did he would sign with them or something along those lines, and we would all see at A1. I wonder if the "something" is slimming the shroud area? They definitely are wide, and a guy with bike control like Stewart needs to have his bike perfectly suited to him to perform to his potential.

Total outsider opinion with no facts, just thoughts I have. Maybe DV could shed some light if a company like Yamaha wouldn;t even allow something like that?
They moved the engine forward.

Bike sounds DEEP..........Doesn't sound like his last year bike at all. I have also noticed he seems to turn the new bike alot better.

Not saying it's impossible, but how would they do that? Rules state the frame & cases must be stock, they mate together, not to mention the swingarm pivot.

I would think they would be experimenting with offset head bearing races, to steepen the head angle.

Pretty sure we already went over this about a month ago? as far as slimming the bike down, it was the original discussion about the carbon fiber shrouds, and David Evans confirmed it.

I didn't. You got a link? I know about the shrouds, I'm referring to moving the engine foward.

I can't say how I know this and because of that you may want to think otherwise but the source is credible. Geez I sound like a politician. Think deep pockets and what was James having trouble with.

You guys think that Reed, KW or RV etc wouldn't be able to do sections similar to this on their own practice tracks?

For example Reed from 09, I believe thats a quad in the middle and the last jump into the turn is pretty much a quad to as he's jumping over a step on step off
