How do you live in Southern California, which is home for most Pro racers and not realize that in the grand scheme of things, you suck?

Racetown 395 Back straight step over.

That jump is fairly easy and ive come close to greasing it however every time I go there its too goddam windy to hit it. Not bad if you come up short either ....long straight 4th gear on it and youre good to go.

How about this one? Old double at elsinore (someone else posted this pic). Hit this thing numerous times 3rd pinned flat out for about 65-75 yards and it shoots you UP in the air....have plenty of time to think about life with this one, far and away the biggest ive ever or will ever hit. Estimated (I was told) to be around 135' and a super kicker.

Also if you look at my sig Piru had a step down 80' table with the old track design that would throw you pretty high up in the air as the ground was falling away from you. 2nd gear tapped on a 450 from the inside that day but normally 3rd from the outside.

Anyone have a pic of the old Perris raceway "Gravity Cavity" jump?

LACR step down into the pit before the track was closed.

Perris triple a few years back. It was a true 110' from lip to top of landing. I had a friend that hit it and came up about 3' short. The back wheel landed on top of the landing and exploded, breaking a handful of spokes and the Excel wheel.

Then there was the Perris wall triple. Not the biggest, but very technical. Closest thing to a SX triple I've seen on a normal track. What you can't see is that you were turning up the face to not jump off the track. I also saw Blake Wharton try to quad to the next jump, but that didn't work too well.

120 foot table. The trick is to scrub it hard to stay low. Local pro Rowdy Williamson demonstrates how it’s done. Smile

Outside of Thunder Valley, none of the tracks here build anything big. The rest ranges from painfully small to moderate. Which sucks because Aztec Family Raceway in CO Springs has the best dirt, the best maintenance, ad the best prep, it is just aching for some progressive jumps. After the MXDN last year TV was super fun, the jump with the tunnel in it at the south end of the track (located just after where grant took alessi out), went from a little too short to a full throttle third gear blaster. There is a private track that has one jump bigger than anything I've ever ridden. It's downhill, supercross lip to maybe 50 foot of gap to 60 foot table, and it's downhill. Overshooting would be disastrous, casing wouldn't be cool either.

Just a little 'local' race EASSC at Chappel (nr. Colchester in Essex) but has a sizeable double. Acouple of years ago only a few riders would attempt it, now pretty much every full size bike will do it and even Dylan on his 65cc will!

And when you're in the lead after the holeshot, why not mug for the camera? (same track and meeting)

Baja Acres in Millington, Michigan has a down hill 140' that is huge and a blind take off. Very cool watching the fast guys launch this thing. It is so big that it seems it might be just as fast to scrub the tabletop portion of the jump and then just launch the downside as a single.

The town is named Bartow, it's not near Pax at all, it's closer to Lakeland. Nice track, you should give it a try. I'll be there all day Sunday.

That Elsinore jump was the first BIG jump I ever grew enough sack to hit as well. It was a triple the first time I saw it but then they had so many guys getting seriously hurt on it that they filled it in to make it a single-table but it was the same length as the original triple. It was the first jump I learned to really FLY.

However, the biggest one I ever hit was at Glen Helen and it was rumored to be a 110 or 120 foot step-up/table (if you down sided the table). It was 4th gear on my 400 (back in like 2000) and you were up there so long you could read a book.

Thanks for posting a pic of that thing at Elsinore. Brings back some memories.

Mosier had one that was a lot like that. We stepped it off at 135.

i've made it 3.5 times

42 seconds in you can see the landing and take off in the background... they measured 150ft, video is a bit old and doesn't appear very big in action but none the less here she is...

We have a massive 22 foot triple here in Montana that's quite the huck. Good thing there is at least 500 feet of strait away to get speed for it

Blue diamond MX...Biggest jump is a tabletop people have nicknamed "the intimidator." Not very hard and probably 90+ feet but the face is large enough to be worthy of the nickname. If you've seen any of the barcia videos when he's at blue diamond it's the jump he basically gets backwards on throughout the video. (specifically at .55s, and 3:19) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi8l5owu5r0&feature=relmfu

Hardest is easily the triple triple two turns after the start that lowell spangler does at :39s and 1:56...They're a little sketchy and if you come up short you're gonna feel it. (I know came up short on the second triple and it stung like hell) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wla9_Y62-ik
Intimidator is a fun jump....it's high but I bet the deck on top isn't barely 70'
