Mine does call it a "costume".

That bike looks so good. Can't wait for the season to start to see how he does on it.

Very sexy imho. Having said that....I sit in the garage and get woody looking at my 2002 YZ250F and my venerable old '88 600R. Maybe I'm just too easily stimulated. I really do hope that RD puts the pumpkin up front this year...I like him, respect his team and admire KTM for their customer focused approach.

Serious question . . anyone getting tempted to buy an orange yet?

Will be interesting to see how/if their brand perception changes over the next 2 years.

Dungey isn't riding a production bike... I don't think any of the top 5 will be on current year model production bikes.

either the ktm, or maybe a gas gas.

That's the best looking KTM I've seen. I'm not fond of the new shrouds, liked the 2011 ones better. The sleek front fender and straight/orange rear make a huge difference. The older model's rear end looked like a trials bike.

Looks like Ktm followed Honda and went with the single cam.

Agree. I said that in a post about a month or so back and got chastized by the bike nazis on here. Apparently, it is nothing like hondas design, cept for it being a single cam.

Who reads cycle world? I guess enough people to keep it in business for 25 years. I am a Dungey fan but for some reason you guys are hiding behind the fact that KTM was great in the 80's, and for some reason they chose to stay in the 80's while all of the other top brands chose to move on with technology. In my opinion I say this bike will make Dungey a solid third place rider. But then again I am sure KTM will do whatever Dungey wants so if he doesn't like the bike the first few rounds they will probably figure something out.

Worst front fender and number plate combo. I like how clean the bike is though, not too many stickers and sponsor stuff covering up the bike.

I had no idea WP really meant White Power. I guess KTM hadn't done much research into the American market before they named that suspension company.

because they feel thay can make the steelie work. Rich Taylor said on a Pulp MX podcast that they the current alum. frame bike are just as good now as the old steel frames were "back in the day". He also said how tempermental they are and how the slightest thing can really affect their handling. personally i hope they stay Cromo and never switch to alum.

hell yes and I am a die hard honda guy. Call me old school though because i will be looking a getting a smoker. I never thought i would want a KTM but they are building and devolping the bikes that people want. I know when I graduate i will be looking real hard at a ktm.

^^^^^^This........ Everyone will say the KTM is the way to go, JS7 and the Yamaha look akward, CR22 and the Honda look slow in the whoops, RV2 and the Kawi look like the compression and rebound are way off and the engineers at Kawi have no idea how to set up a bike. Or the Experts here on Vital will say its just a fluke and it never should have happened.
I think it might be a different tune if he wins a bunch of SX races, since he won just once on the Suzuki in 2011. If it takes him forever to find a win the KTM fans are going to be wondering why he sucks so bad on this awesome looking bike.

If Dungey is visibly off his pace of last year, will the KTM fans be objective about it? Or will it be blamed on him?
