that landing at bostwick is just plain retarded!! if you are not dialed into your approach speed, overjumping it is not pretty. some days there is a more forgiving landing downside. the owner grooms it at close of almost every day and does what he can, considering it is a sand/dirt fast paced sx style track. i could do no better, but that 110' downside needs to be more forgiving.
I was just at Bostwick about 3 weeks ago and that was the first time I've been. That landing wasn't too bad on it. I cased it, a lot. And over jumped it...a lot. Kinda hard to time it just perfectly but I thought the landing was really good on it.

It's definitely safe for a relatively long tabletop..I think more people wreck in the small doubles' sections. I don't have the technique to carry the speed out of the corner to get close (plus I can't get stoked enough to try it...)..Yet. My 250f didn't have the power to make up for my slow exit speed. ..I did ride one muddy practice day in Oct on my new 450 and can definitely see how much more "do-able" it is for the big bikes. Maybe next year..
Gabriel, for the 30+ and 40+ classes I race in, it's just not necessary to attempt it. Seen plenty of 450's and 250 2-strokes get over it and not all of them were A riders. Don't recall any 250f guys doing it other than Decotis.

I know what you mean about the big jumps..A lot of times you can win in the 30/40+ (novice) classes by taking the inside lines for the most part. Hopefully in '12 I'll make it up there for some of the races...I love that track. Wish it was closer, I'd get an annual membership.

Blue diamond MX...Biggest jump is a tabletop people have nicknamed "the intimidator." Not very hard and probably 90+ feet but the face is large enough to be worthy of the nickname. If you've seen any of the barcia videos when he's at blue diamond it's the jump he basically gets backwards on throughout the video. (specifically at .55s, and 3:19) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi8l5owu5r0&feature=relmfu

Hardest is easily the triple triple two turns after the start that lowell spangler does at :39s and 1:56...They're a little sketchy and if you come up short you're gonna feel it. (I know came up short on the second triple and it stung like hell) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wla9_Y62-ik

Old Diamondback track in upstate NY. (Now AK farm and run backwards) I guess you could call it a step up triple? It was a fun jump I miss hitting it.

How do you live in Southern California, which is home for most Pro racers and not realize that in the grand scheme of things, you suck?

There is a 220 foot quintuplet out at Tulare Cycle Park that I have seen. Nobody has jumped it yet and I would but my bike only has 5 gears.

I need to get my hiney there earlier in day. After 12-1 that downside gets those natural sand woops. So on the days the landing is rather short/unforgiving , if u overjump it then, you pretty much land on a huge sand woop or roller. I have had 2 friends eat handlebars from overjumping it and landing on the suckers. Timing is everything and that's how it goes, glad to see you are not injured.

hardrock water tower jump is still there with 2 lines. The approach is more head on than in picture you have, but same concept.

Damn Mike, I remember you showing me those pics many years ago (MotoX395/Simon on TwistedDirt here), that turning-step-up-step-down tripple (I do recall it being a tripple at least) still looks hella sketchy to me.
