Josh Grant Tweet (Jeff Ward Racing)

Edited Date/Time 1/27/2012 4:43am
Grant just tweeted:

"All INKED up!!! Glad to get my deal done today.. HINT: His mechanic was the best dude out there!!.. Tom Morgan

Look for a press release here in the next few days.. #letsdothis "

Tom Morgan wrenched for Ward from 1987-1992 so I'm just putting two and two together and say that he's signed to Jeff Ward Racing for 2012. Says PR should be out in a couple of days.

JWR on green bikes.... teammate could be Millsaps? He's apparently asking for a lot of money and Mike K seems to have some.

Morgan wrenched for Grant as an amateur I think. He also did stuff for Heath Voss that I am aware of.

Yes he did ...The best Mechanic we had, I think Tom has the most titles out of all Mechanics out there. Tom trained Naveen from Honda Of Houston to be Josh's full time mech when he went to the 125 class. Some of the best times with Tom. Maybe we will see him again?

Millsaps needs to learn you have to EARN money. Not ask for or demand it and race when you feel like it.

Millsaps was around when racing paid well, and isn't willing to work for nothing like a lot of the kids coming up are. He's been laid up, he knows the risk vs. reward. I hope he can get what he needs and has a great season in 2012.

Jeff Ward tweeted that he signed his first Athlete and Josh Grant retweeted it.......done deal IMO but we all pretty much knew this just nothing official had came out yet

million dollar talent...ten cent brain!!

at least he'll bring hype and a hot moto every few rounds between meltdowns to the team!

12th oa!

this ain't 09 outdoor when every singly guy was either hurt or in the 250's?

grant is in the lanioivich, brandes, hill, casey johnson catergory of really talented...yet really retarded! couldn't string a few moto's together even if a shotgun was stuck to his head!

I hope millsaps ends up somewhere where he can show some speed. I've never ridden the KXF's but I hear they are a bigger bike. Maybe a good fit for Davi since he's one of the bigger riders out on the circuit. I'd kind of like to see Factory Connection pick him up to replace K-Dub when he finally decides he's had enough.

Grant used to be my favorite rider but he stays hurt so its kinda hard to cheer for someone thats not even on the track. After his little tweet about dungey being a choke artist though I lost all respect for him..... Really choke artist? What was grant choking on while dungey was out winning titles in every class there is? Stupid

Yeah, the guy has one kidney and probably enough money to live the rest of his life...............for me, the fan, I love watching him race..............but if I was Davey, it would be easy for me to hang it up and ride for fun and pursue some business interests.

he will never have dungey dedication....those boys are cut from a different cloth! just look at the results so far. i'm not being a "hate'...the gheyest word in sports right now.....but lets be serious.....there's villys, dungey's and stewarts....then there's grants, hill's, and stroupes. they willl pull a fast lap...but will never have the brain to string a series together.

Hammertime has a point but it is up for Josh to prove people wrong. I am rooting for Josh because he has a family now and seems to really love being a dad. But.....Josh and Wife seem to tweet alot about their drinking games etc. It doesn't seem like he is heading the right direction but obviously I do not know what he does every day to prepare for this season.

Face it. Josh Grant will not win you a title. He may get you a podium or a win if everyone crashes but he is not a title threat nor is he a solid top 5 guy.

Will he help that team deveolpe and build a better bike and test, sure. He has experience that some others dont but he wont be battling for anything but top privateer awards.

I dont care for him because he runs his mouth and doesnt back it up. Talk some shit when you race a whole season and finish top ten, please.

I am a huge fan of your sons talent. I dont think there is anybody that can run with him when it is his day. That said I also think it is time for the kid to grow up and quit acting like a punk. It is not smart to go on public forums and tweet about how much him and the woman like to party nor is it smart to use words like fag. He is nowhere near a professional and that probably has led to him being passed over for some of the top tier rides that he is capable of acheiving off talent alone. Josh is on his way out if he does not start putting in the work that is required to run at the front in ama pro supercross/mx. Just calling it like it is.

I'm kind of surprised that Jeff Ward went with a guy like Grant-doesn't seem to be his type. Maybe he thinks he can have the right influence on him. I'm not sure that he will-that dog don't hunt. Ward is one of the greatest overall racers of our sport and he worked like a dog when he trained with Spencer and was super fit in his day. Grant doesn't seem like he does much of any training, and his results say as much.

Hard work will beat talent when talent doesn't work hard. I like Kyle C and think he has way more upside than either Grant or Milsaps. Can't believe he hasn't been signed with either JGR or JWR.

Doesn't seem to care what his boss or sponsors think either. Kinda highlights the "brains" issue presented earlier in the thread. Tweeting about drinking games? haha, fool. I would love to see Wardy do well, but has Grant finished an entire year ever? How many series has he even completed beginning to end?

Oops-sorry about that. Good for Star Racing! I'll say he has a better season than either Davie or Josh. In that he will have a better overall finish in both SX and MX.
