DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Especially since I'm a Stewart fan. Gotta defend him somehow.
Wasn't that the standard of the last sand specialist they sent over here from the GP's?
JK...
I like Marc and have always been a huge fan of his and it was great when he came over for the wick that year.
For completing only 1 moto,he still pulled a top 10 OA. Pretty cool.
Just sucks that he never came back after that.
RV and RD are awesome riders, but they're not unbeatable as proved at the MXdN,they were hailed as the fastest on the planet and went 1-2 in the last Moto but its a shame Pourcel had a Mechanical,AC rode with a broken wrist and pulled out,Desalle and Frossard were out injured and Roczen wasn't in that race, now that would've been an Awesome race!
Herlings is a better sand rider than marc (in my opinion) - he's the best sand rider i've ever seen (better than everts!). Hopefully he will race southwick next year, i was hoping he would do it this year!
It's cool when gp riders go and race in the states for one off races- its a shame no american riders do the same (race a one off gp) - i really enjoyed watching marc race southwick, and also clement desalle rode well at the 2 nationals he did in 2009 and 2010 (finishing 3rd dnf at washougal in 09 on a borrowed, stock 450 honda, and finishing 2-2 at unadilla in 2010 on a borrowed factory suzuki- him and dungey had a good battle that day). De Dyker has done a national too (think he went 5-6)
I would love to see some of the top US riders come over to do a gp!
Pit Row
For me, Marvin and Dean will be Kens biggest championship rivals- Blake will win races, but unless he finds some consistency he wont be a championship contender. Deano has been super consistant this year, and Marvin knows how to win championships. I cant wait for the outdoors next year!
I think it is because the World Championships have plenty of diverse tracks & venues and somehow the GP riders adapt to them quickly.
We do here in a sense also as far as the tracks go....have different types.
But traveling to different countries & venues and having to adapt instantly makes it more diverse for the GP guys I would assume.I think that is why you dont see any of the Top Americans taking a stab at a GP every now and then on an off AMA weekend. I can remember Alessi doing a few GP's a few years back or so.....but seems like he didn't really adapt all that well.
I also think that they look at it as a risk and see it as, they may have more to lose then possibly gain.
You have to also remember,we race almost year a round here if you take our SX series into consideration.
So having that off weekend to rest....I'm sure is something they really look forward to.
The GP guys in a sense get most of the fall, winter and part of spring off, unless they do a small Euro SX series during the fall/winter.
Also, I have been told by the Euro dudes on here that they keep just as busy as our guys racing their respective national championships in off times, along with the SX events, not sure if that's true or not, but that's what they claim.
I think our culture if pretty much the same throughout the US compared from going to lets say Brazil or Portugal to Glen Helen or Turkey VS Washougal or Hangtown to Red Bud or Steele City.
I think our guys feel at home for the most part.
I dont think their schedule is quite as intense as far as racing goes.
The SX series is far more competitive then any of their off season series they have over there.
And obviously a weekend & week-out nation wide racing schedule is pretty intense, compared to a off season training schedule or a smaller national series over there.
Your up early this morning. I need to get my butt in gear and load the bike up....
But without a doubt, Roczen beat Dungey straight up in the first MX1/MX2 moto.
