As Jeffro98 presumed, we all expect an "official" announcement at the MXDN press conference after the race, just like they did with Everts.

Decoster has been a champion for over 30 years, any brand he touches turns to gold. He turned Suzuki from also ran to champions, he'll do the same at KTM. The guy just knows how to win.

Looks like Decoster got them to open up the purse (no surprise) to hire some real talent...Dungey is KTMs first real contender in AMA racing - ever

It probably the best funded team right now...KTM is selling more bikes than ever, and Red Bull has VERY deep pickets.

Champion team manager + Champion rider + deep pockets is a tough combination to beat.

Roczen certainly didn't seem to slow down switching from Suzuki to KTM.

KTM's small bikes have been pretty good for 10 years.

Cyg, I think the RD could lose every race he enters on a KTM but like each time his contract is up he still will be the guy that everyone in the industry waits to see who he signs for before they can move forward. RD will never have a problem getting the best rides no matter what happens with KTM. I do however think that if this experiment fails that KTM may never wash the egg off its face in US MX/SX. Ryan will be just fine IMO, maybe pissed but fine!Wink

Took a LONG time for him to get Suzuki to where they are now.

But yes, if anyone can turn KTM around in the US Decoster can. It just might take longer than 3 months to get to where they need to be - seriously doubt they will be there by A1 but we'll see.

Some of you guys act like the Katoom is some pile that isn't competitive. I'm sure Dungey will be just fine on that bike. He's a champion, works hard and with the help of stellar people around him should be dialed in come A1. I'm just glad to see KTM doing what it has to in order to be a serious contender for championships in the U.S.

It's pretty obvious from his results, Ryan knows how to set up a bike. Consistency every race, every track, SX or MX, there is a good bet he's gonna win. He's the most fit guy out there, you know he isnt afraid to put the work in. Why wouldnt he have the KTM (or any bike for that matter) set up for A1? Oh yeah some guy named Decoster is going to be workin along side him. Surely he knows what RD expects in a bike from their past workings and probably has base setting ready to go. Lastly from everything we have seen from Ryan this past year and how much winning means to him, would he go to a team if he wasnt absolutely certain he couldnt win on their bike? If anything he seems like the type to give the hometown discount to stay on better equipment. A win at A1? Hey this field is more stacked then ever. Between JS, TC, CR, RV, and RD any night one of them can win. I garauntee Dunge will be on the podium though. Even being a RD "fanboy", I gotta say if he's healthy they all better look out for Trey. When it comes to supercross, he's really got it. Outdoors is def Ryan's stomping ground

Agree with everything you just said chris, however I don't think it can be said that at A1 the KTM will be as good as his Zook is now. His curent Zook has 5 years of 3 of the best test riders ever riding it and perfecting it, while his new KTM will most likely be a bike no one has ever ridden. However, you can bet by midseason SX he will have it all figured out, I just don't think 3 months at the test track can be equivalent to 5 years at the racetracks. Yet, I also don't think it will effect his results negatively, he's too great of a rider for that to happen.

Good. Now it`s time for Everts to go to USA and rebuild their 250 program there, like he did in GP`s.

We are always on the same page bro Laughing Yeah I agree though, with himself and Chad winning a National title on the RMZ (MA800 winning races, holeshotting EVERY moto, and looking like a world-beater on it) it would be foolish to think the KTM could be as good out of the gate. I would be fine with him getting up to speed and comfortable on the pumpkin mid-sx. Dunge's legend is gonna be built outdoors(the supercross title doesnt mean as much to me anyways lol) and come Hangtown he will be putting orange at the front of the pack. Pretty rediculous of people to think his career is going to submarine now. What's he 21yrs old? To be repetitive, he KNOWS how to set up a bike. You dont look that silky smooth and crazy fast to boot if your bike there.

indoors, he was 'done' when RV got on that beastly, old-framed KX-450.

Maybe KTM has what it takes. They've got the will and cash, + RD and RD.

dungey is one of the most tragically boring human beings there is. however, ill be cheering for him in '12 not just because of him but because of the austrian bike/roger decoster/dungey combo and for all the guys before him who suffered on KTMs that WERE shit, like cliff palmer and danny chandler. rip magoo.

The people who think that Orange will sink his career are probably the same people who said that about RC going to Suzuki and RV after breaking his leg. Or about Reed every season.

He's far from boring were it counts, on the track. Yeah he isnt K-Dub or Reedy on the mike, who have had TONS of practice obviously, but I think it's become more of a cliche than anything. "Oh Dungey is boring, he's a robot, etc." It's not really saying much but he's one of the better guys on the podium. None of them are that good, cmon. Is RV any better? I think he's worse because unless he wins, Villo barely seems interested. You want boring look at Bagget. My gf, who is a newb to the sport, singled right out how bad he is. The way he says 2 sentences about the races then launches into the sponsor list is painful. Guess RD needs to get arrested, thank his dog, or referance the local stripjoint for people to think he's interesting. How's that working out for J-Law by the way?

I've always gotten the impression that RD and RD have a pretty dialed in working relationship. If Roger tells Ryan he needs to do something...Ryan does it....if he can't then Roger starts looking at the bike. There's no second guessing or hidden agendas. They both want the same thing...to win. When each side of the equation feels/knows the other is giving 100% then good things usually follow. If things don't go as well as they expect, they know it wasn't for the lack of effort from either side. There isn't much more you can ask.

The KTM is a great bike. All it needs is a rider and they have it now. Same with JGR racing. Great bikes but no rider. If James Stewart signed with JGR they will be the envy of the sport. if they keep doing what they are doing they are just another team like Valli or Harts team with a bigger budget which means nothing without a rider.

At the end of the day the bike is only as good as the guy riding it.
