Top 5 on an actual 125 instead of a 144 is pretty damn impressive. Can't wait to see him over here again next year.. Any chance of him racing the Monster Energy Cup?

That was the coolest thing I seen all season. He was ringing that little 125's neck. So fun to watch. The lost art of keeping up momentum and rpms. Unlike the twist the throttle and go method of today's riders.

16th to 4th before he crashed in the second moto. I think its safe to say if he had a 150 he'd be battling the lead and a 250 2stroke he would have left em for dead. Surely this kills the equal capacity argument? Especially with that track being super hilly.

I put a highlight vid of the GP's on the front page every week, usually not till late tonight or Monday, or as soon as they put em up. Hopefully the guys at MOTO do something special for us!!

It was cool and he was fast, but he went from usually setting the fastest times to being 2-4 seconds off of the pace. Which, like I said, is better than I thought it would be, but it's still like shooting yourself in the foot.

Well you're reading between the lines, but I do think that it was much more of a bike than the 125 and everyone knew it.

For example, the first gen YZ250F could gain about 5hp just from changing the exhaust.

Man, as much as I hate to, I have to agree with Ashleymx on this one.

The one thing for certain is that a 125 is simply not fast enough to compete with the 250Fs. And he probably would have killed them on a 250SX. If he wasn't on a track that favored a 125 (like Southwick, Glen Helen), I think his results would have been worse. He obviously would have been in contention on the 150, but then again at Southwick or Glen Helen, he would have struggled (even on the 150).

I don't see how a rather hilly track like this weekend would favor a 125cc bike... Certainly there are worse tracks for a 125 but still. :q

Roczen would have been on the podium if he hadn't crashed,and that was coming through the pack- pretty impressive! His corner speed was awesome!

The FIM and Youthstream CHOSE to run EMX2 (250f's) for their last support race at Gaildorf and EMX125 at the steepest, hilliest track on the circuit with jumps 450's struggle to get over. Brilliant planning on their part. Even Malin mentioned that if Roczen would have been able to do it at Gaildorf he would have stood a better chance.

Yeah the track was hilly, but not a lot of sand. I'm not that familiar with the Gaildorf track.

Roczen did good considering he probably has very little time actually riding a 125. To get 5th in his first ever moto on a 125 against guys on other bikes that have twice the displacement is awesome. If he had a couple more races im sure he would be in the top 3 for sure.

Props for Roczen for having the guts to ride a 125 against 250F's. Also interesting that a riders stock (appeal) seems to increase after they ride a 2-stroke. Last week Stewart and this week Roczen.

After all, this is a company that had a guy (Cedric Soubeyras) out there on one of their bikes last year on the European SX Series WINNING and bringing the KTM250SX up on the podium several times while riding for a Dealership in Germany - Sarholtz KTM - and the KTM factory never lifted a finger to offer any kind of support, or even a nod of acknowledgment, to him as a rider, OR to the dealership/team to help them with their effort. He won races - and they offered no support or acknowledgment. Then he put the KTM250SX on the box at the most prestigious Euro Supercross event there is - Bercy SX - while fully supported Factory KTM guys bumped about on their Blumpers without an overall podium... and... STILL, KTM OFFERED ABSULUTELY NO HELP OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGMENT TO RIDER, TEAM... NOTHING AT ALL...

He was the only real competition for the Americans at Bercy SX, and he wanted to come to USA and race Supercross.... BUT - He rides a 2 stroke, so as far as KTM is concerned, he didn't even exist....

Moto Concepts offered a YZ250 with some nice work by Reptil Racing of France, and DV offered a placed to stay so that Cedric could race some rounds of SX here, and the whole deal got more people excited than any other announcment related to SX has IN AGES.....

It didn't go down because of an injury in practice, but it DID serve as a metering device to measure the amount of interest people have in seeing 2 strokes represented in pro racing, whether or not the crooks at the bike companies, or the weak worms at the race sanctioning organizations, care to let it happen. The amount of interest was enormous! But, no bke company ever does anything other than watch slilently with a thumb up it's "4 Stoke Only" ass... OR a "We'll happily sell you the bikes while our entire marketing agenda does nothing but talk shit about the bikes, or totally ignore them and their buyers, as we sell them to you..." type of attitude.

As a 2 stroke rider watching all of that... you have to ask yourself W.T.F???.....

So, I don't know at this point what KTM really wanted out of that race with Roczen on the 125...

They haven't made any effort to show us their 2 strokes at the races, even when they were grtting free wins and podiums out of Cedric.... so what were their intentions??? I don't know... But I do know that I don't want to be subjected to another 4 stroke hype bullshit storm that sounds like a script written by a marketing dept. when a rider begins to speak.

K-Roc actually tweeted after the race that it was alot of fun, but also alot of work.

I read something a few days ago that K-Roc actually negotiated riding the 125 into his contract, if he locked the championship up early.. I dont remember where it was that I read that though

To tell you the truth I didn't read it, I'm not going to read a thousand word essay about some 2 stroke conspiracy crap.

Roczen had fun on it, did fairly well, the pics of the bike look sick. Leave all the illuminati erradicated the 2 stroke crap out of it.
