We don't believe you, 2 stroke riders who post on here, don't ever buy new bikes They only buy used bikes. Oh, wait, you had a choice and there actually was a new bike available finally, not all sold out before they hit the floor. LOL.

Why would that piss anyone off that you bought a motorcycle? Seriously, who would it piss off?

That's the same as asking why shill come on every 2 stroke post and say they are dead. Obviously it bothers them, they are selling very well, so far from dead.

i have noticed this in oz too. just over a year ago i got back into riding and went to an mx park and my wife and i were the only ones with 2 strokes. went back there about 2 months ago and there were probably 30% 2 strokes.

racing is still dominated by 4 strokes but the practice day and fun riding crowd are where the numbers are really increasing

Do you even understand the Metrics or Terminology?

How many 2T's did KTM sell...alll the while w/ no 125...hell what were their 300 "stats" alone?

How many 2Ts are they importing for '12?

How many is/are Husky bringing in?

TM?

Yamaha?

Uh, yeah, thought so.

Honda screwed the pooch on this one. Have ya seen how cheap the un-loved 150Rs fetch on the used market?

At-least most of the others are still building their "Small-Smokers".

Who said they are dead? Are you talking about 500guy now? Did he post in this thread? In summary, I'm confused what the fuck are you talking about? Are you pissed that Digger bought a 125? I'm just trying to get to the bottom of who he pissed off by buying a motorcycle.

I'm looking at the data right now dude. It doesn't matter what metrics or terminology you are using.
And those "un-loved" 150R's may or may not outsell all the other OEM's "Small-Smokers" combined every year...

BTW, all in good fun dude.

Copy that; but, when's the last model yr on those "numbers" you're lookin' at and compared to what?

Also, MIC or DMV?

As to "Per Capita"...the number of 4T v. 2T for any given model yr....Yamaha and KTM is/are the metrics I was talkin' about...both of which show the 2T's goin out the door in their perspective release yrs while 4T's have a 24-36 mo sells cycle...and plenty of "Left-0ver" giveaway-promo deals. Hardly the case on the 2Ts.

All the while Yamaha and KTM don't do AMYTHING to promote the 2Ts...comparo-wise.

It truly is a "missed" op by the others. Furthermore, it would take NOTHING for someone like Kawi to take EXISTING Tooling and Vendor lists and build a KDX -NOT in Japan...but, Thailand...and have a $3999 Market-ringer.

Hell, Honda could make an MR125-200 out of Brazil (Altho that plant is closed, I think?) for the same or better number...they DO have their own Thailand op's...so...same-same.

2ts are cheap to build and no Carbon-BS-Credit Issues....YET.

Worse, yet: CRF-F's goin' waaaaaay up in price.

We need the scoots that we can sell to the "Nooob's" on the cheap to get new-blood in our sport.

Looks like another problem for the Chinese to fix/answer.

Me? I think Honda and Kawi have the best resources for a proper solution; however, both are too big to think that way.

Saw a lot of 2Ts out at Pala on the Nat track last w/e ... mostly YZ250s. Someone said there was a big amateur race coming up so they were probably getting in some early practice.

My son is riding a 105sx and now also a yz125. My 450 is for sale so I can get another yz250 . The two strokes are just more fun for play riding and practice days without having to worry so much.

Whoa, you need to find your happy place man. I'm pretty sure there is nothing to be mad about here, as far as I can tell some guy just bought a bike. I'm going to investigate further, and if anger is warranted I promise I too will piss in my neighbors dryer vent. I'm going to keep my eye on Digger, though. He may be an instigator.

I noticed my local accessory shop is stocking a whole lot more 2 stroke oil than they used to. A year or 2 ago they only carried maybe some MC-1 and 927 , Now they've got those plus Klotz, HP2, and several more. Someone must be buying that oil!

Husaberg is only shipping 2 strokes stateside for 2012. They have too many 2010/2011 4 strokes still on the showroom floors. It will be interesting to see how these sell.

we added another smoker to the pile this month. a sweet clean 2004 cr 250. Kid has rode the snot out of the 125's now for two years, time to step up as he is moving to the A class in a few weeks. (HS not mx). this thing was a friend of mine's bike who bought it and never rode it. has maybe 10 hours on it, stock tires, grips etc.

big tank, and some other needed things on the way.

makes 7 smokers, one turd (wifes 250x) and well hope we can keep finding clean 2 strokes.

funny thing happend the other day, a dealer offered us a 250 turd to ride, i replied, no problem!!! we will drop it off on Monday, and pick it up on Friday. LOL needless to say I will be doing air cleaners and oil changes for the kid for a long time...........

Yes. Local race last sunday the 250 Pro class was 4 250T-S out of 6 total riders. All bought used. I would have been out there on mine but im sidelined right now. They are comin back big time, and we all know the reasons why. it just sucks that Yamaha and KTM are selling them for pretty much the same price as their 4 strokes.

Our local track has made a 125 class now.. getting 7-10 bikes each race for it. Seeing a lot of 250 2 strokes out in the mix too. I've noticed on craiglist the 2 strokes are selling quickly and going up in price!

I never left the two stroke.

I have two 125s and one 250.

I will probably be selling the CR 125. The bike is clean

You realize that "penultimate" means next to last, right?

Just trying to figure out if you like the idea of a FI 2t, or not.

just got back from the local races today and there were 2 strokes in every class except the unlimited A+B, they were all 450's. Junior lites, senior lites and vets had 2 strokes in them. there werent heaps in them but there were a couple in each class. a couple years ago there was hardly a 2 stroke at the track on a race day

We'll know more on the subject if Roczen and Cairoli indeed ride 2 strokes at the last GP next week !

Great move on those champion's and on KTM's part if the rumor is true...

Post a reply to: 2 strokes coming back???
