Always loved the brutal simplicity and form-follows-function of some bikes. This is one of them.

Gotta agree. The first time I saw a ME125, in 1980, I was blown away. I was lucky enough to get to see it in action almost every weekend that year.

I can appreciate the uniqueness and the cool factor of it, but it's really not "beautiful". Kind of an ugly duckling, actually, with the big scoop thingy on the front and the broken sway back appearance of the non-safety seat and tank junction.
I agree, motocross bikes are by need function over form. They are awesome and fast looking, but not beautiful. Street bikes and cafe racers are much prettier.

I nominate my Husky. I thought the blue and white when they came out were awesome.
But I will give way to the factory Honda's(82-83). Absolute works of art. Who didn't dream of touching, much less riding one of those. That is why Honda was king back in the day.

Oh shit the Peak Honda's!! The first Pro Circuit bikes and still the best looking. Didnt they paint the tanks blue every race? The 92 with the white tank is one sexy f*cking bike

Thank you sir. First dirt bike I ever rode. I now live 3 blocks from the "pits" where I first rode. You can still see "king hill" 30 years later. A massive 40ft near verticle climb (lol) with a natural pre jump 10ft from the top. It took balls to hit it back in 1974. That bike changed my life.
You most likely road with my old man.

Well I vote for the 82 Honda and the 92 Suzuki RGV500, But I am a little bias to these bikes as I owe the two below...

I like this bike from the engineering perspective as well as visual...it's a shame they had to go into electric bikes.

Gotta disagree with form follows function on this one. I rode one. it was a turd. Very disappointing. I think Yamaha actually compromised function for form on this bike.
