I personally thought that if RV could win the Supercross series, he would absolutely blow them away in the outdoors.

I know today is only the first round, but to have Reed and Dungey put a 50 second gap on him in the second moto is absolutely huge, his best lap time of the second moto was right there with 22 and 1 but he just didn't seem to maintain the pace after the three battled.

I'm sure he will find the speed needed though, we all know he has no fear of twisting the throttle.

many of you are short on memory. Remember last year after Dungey won the SX title, he came out way flat at Hangtown. I think that perhaps RV 2 was a little low on seat time on the outdoor bike due to him battling to the wire at Vegas. The klid will be fine, dont you worry.

I think the only work he has to do is take his cough medicine and recover this week from being ill...

The first year after RC won the SX title ('01), he really had a tough time getting it going outdoors. He won all the second motos if I remember right for the first 4 races or so, but he had some really poor first moto finishes.

As long as RV doesn't get hurt, he'll be fine. If I was a betting man, I'd put money on him for the title. A 3-3 is a great way to get the series started.

Cmon, RV doesn't have a thing to do except keep doin what he has been. The swings in outdoor finishes are a lot greater than SX, especially with 2 motos. RD CR were 3rd place finishers all of SX and in the end, both were in contention to win the title, all is well in RV land. Be glad that others are stepping up and challenging for wins, much like SX, there are several who can win. This could be a season to remember.

He's lost his speed from not racing the full outdoor season the last 2 years.Whistling he better hope he makes it through this season our he will be really slow next sx

Here's a tip...remember Dungey last year? You learn something from the first race. But you don't learn everything about how the whole season will go.

For not racing outdoors two laps around the sun I think he did damn good. Ryan turns on like a thermostat, not a light switch.

Anytime you see RV getting passed there's something else going on. In all the time that I've followed him these last few years he only moves up through the pack or just plain dominates. Hopefully he'll get healthy soon and hasn't got the same funk he dealt with in his 450 rookie season.

He has everything he needs to be at the front. What he needs most is rest to get over whatever is ailing him. He runs the risk of more fatigue without proper rest. He might benefit more from rest than training and testing this next week.

Haven't read any of the other responses, but RV will be just fine. First national the guy had done is forever, and as much as he tried to downplay it, he'd been sick the week prior to the race. Not unlike RD's sub-par start at Hangtown last season, I expect RV to rebound and be battling for wins in the next few weeks. Too bad Allessi went out early, this had potential to be another 4-rider battle for the c'ship.
