After watching the GP qualifying this afternoon I am so glad that we have a company running MX who actually cares about the fans and not just their pocket book. Paid the $5 for the weekend live feed and the quality is nothing impressive at all. Grainy, weird noises, random blue screens, horrible announcing (they don't talk about the racing at all, no clue what is going on in the race, what order people are in, ect...) No live timing, because they want you to pay for it, then it isn't anywhere to be found once you do. All just one big money grab, no wonder no Americans participate.

Lets Compare:
Hangtown ticket: $40 ($30 at local shops)
GP Ticket: $50

AMA Live timing: Free, works most the time.
GP live timing: Pay then doesn't work at all.

Race coverage:
AMA: Free live coverage of first motos on TV and internet, live HD coverage of second motos that night on TV.
GP: Pay for 1990s quality video and horrible audio and production on the internet.

From a fans perspective it is pretty obvious which series cares about their fans the most.

No I like the Nat's also. The riders are equal but the GP's have works bikes, qualifiers, and all the tracks are prepped differently. Sand, hard pack, dust, rocks, hills, mud, .........motocross.

Don't get my wrong I like the GPs, I even went to one last year and the MXDN. But it isn't the bang for the buck that a national is for the spectator. Guess I thought that since I was paying, the product would be better. Oh well, Sunday should be good.

And 500 guy steals my thoughts once again! People will bitch about anything.

I find the coverage awesome and really like the mix of Malin and Bailey together announcing. You can hear a mutual "been there done that respect" between them. I love how prozach says the announcing is horrible. Yeah because SX and National Champion David Bailey, and World Champ Paul Malin are clueless.. (Insert sarcasm)

You guy's ever see davey's range rover?

Dc loves mx.
Dana loves mma
Don king loves boxing.

Dana and davey's are doing a good job. But this is a business.... Not about love.

No hate here and I'd be trying to do like Dana and davey's if it were me.

Do what you can to grow it. But get paid big no matter what happens.

I've paid for the GPs and as per usual I can only stream it as a blury mess. In comparison USA nats always stream in high quality for me here in Australia as does any 720p stream, youtube, justintv or whatever. Its not my local internet speed its something between Australia and the mx-life stream (which must be the same system they used for freecaster and the redbull stream from last year) slowing it down. I have a dedicated PC set up with my 50" lcd via HDMI just for streaming MX so its frustrating. Bring on the USA nats so I can read the number plates and its free!

Knowitall, I drive a Toyota Tundra. My wife, who has her own businesses, owns the SUV you mentioned. I have never been paid for helping the nationals, I am lucky enough to have started a publishing company and get my paycheck there.

The GP's are much better for the fans IMO. 2 days of racing?? That's the deal sealer for me.

The Nationals are not what they use to be. Saturday practice with all of the pre qualifiers going on. Some of the best racing at the National were on Saturday not Sunday.

Those were the days.

A GP is two days... and longer motos... so actually in that sense it is better value for money....GPs are live on free to air TV where I live, as are the US nationals.

Plus you get to watch the the qualifying races on mx-life.tv which is cool ... and yes MXDN winner, GP runner up and British National Champion Paul Malin knows nothing and neither does AMA SX/MX Champ and MXDN winner David Bailey... The commentary and analysis was excellent.

Do you know what kind of car Dana drives around? Does it matter?

I see you are taking a swipe, and just got owned when learning of the fact that DC collects no salary from running the Nationals....does Don King and Dana White get paid? You better believe it.

I think the GP's are cooler because of that same reason..Real qualifiers the way it should be.Real tracks with varying conditions that give each race its own flavor. The nationals prep each track exactly the same way"ripped real deep".
I enjoyed the qualifiers when i went to nationals there was always really good racing and you got a sense of the speed the factory guys were laying down after a morning of qualifiers.

Qualifiers? What?

There aren't even 40 riders in each class.. what are they qualifying for, gate pick? If so...that's not "real" qualifiers, as in, you don't make top 40 you're out kinda qualifying... or do they not put 40 riders on the gate in GP's?

Regardless.. thanks DC and MX Sports and all that put on the Nationals, although I still hate the 1 day format.

Thanks for the paid side swipe. Take your 'thank God for..' AMA nationals outside the US and see how your stinking slow faulty 'lemonwire' works, make ticketing competitive with the local race. Get in touch and quit attacking motocross asshole. This US v Euro bullshit is fkn boring and self destructive to the sport. Where does this bullshit come from and why does it only happen when a non MXSports race hits town???
