Did you really think he wasn't? He said at the press conference "I make my money off of my investments, racing is a hobby". Right now he seems to be having a good time with his hobby. Reed could go race outdoors with zero sponsors and it wouldn't affect his lifestyle or future security one bit. I would not be surprised one bit if he adds another #1 plate doing it. And if he does he'll make any money he paid out of pocket back 10 fold when next year comes around.

Well , I hadn't heard a 100% gaurentee he was racing the nationals until now. I think he was a little uncertain himself , depending on how last night went down. Either way though.......looks like the outdoors just got a little better.

I think he was always going to, if you're trying to raise money you don't want the people with the checkbooks to know you're willing to go without them. I'm sure if not a single one of his current supporters was willing to be onboard he might have changed his mind but I don't think that was going to happen with every weekend live on Speed. Chad Reeds stock has gone up as much as Stewarts has gone down in the last 18 weeks.

Awesome!!!! Glad to hear he's gonna do it.

I'm sure if Honda is willing to help him out it will help push his decision towards doing it. He didn't say for sure but it sure sounds like it's very likely. Time to see how that Honda handles the outdoors. From watching Metcalfe and Townley last year, I would say he's got a good shot.

yikes... I was kind of hoping Reed would stay out of the Outdoors, take time off to enjoy what he accomplished this year and come back swinging in '12.

Reed is more of a technical rider, always has been. Even on his "amazing" Suzuki in 2009, he barely won that title, against a very empty field. People like Ivan Tedesco and Andrew Short were giving him a run for his money (nothing against those two, just saying, they aren't exactly the kind of guys who contend for race wins).

Now fast forward to 2011..add in Ryan Villopoto, Ryan Dungey, Christophe Pourcel, Trey Canard, possibly James Stewart etc... I think Reedy would be better off soaking in the warm weather in Florida on Jet Skis.

If Reed gets through the whole series he'll finish top 3.

People can call me crazy now, but I say he battles with Dungey all season. He had Dungey's speed at Red Bud last year... with an illness and being on a bike he hated. He's healthy and he'll be enjoying the Hond A LOT more.

RV will either destroy the field or be in the Dungey/Reed battle. Pourcel will have flashes of brilliance and probably win a few motos. 5th will be Alessi.

By the time Canard get's into it he'll have nothing to lose anyway. I'm sure he'll win a few, but he'll never be a points factor. Stewart isn't racing the whole series (and possibly not even a few races).

I'm pumped to see him there! Yeah, theres no way he's gonna dominate, but he'll be in the mix just like SX.

With the talent in the Outdoors, we're going to see another awesome series, like we just witnessed. ( more than just 1 or 2 riders winning every round ) Can't wait for it to start!

After talking with TwoTwo team and Honda people yesterday, it's clear Chad Reed will race @AmericanMotocross series this summer

He was unsure but then he scored the Rock Hard, Ride Hard money and that tipped the balance.
Reedy's gonna let that money ride!

If 2009 Mike Alessi shows up he will be a title contender.

I'm not gonna lie.... I'm quietly rooting for Alessi to mix it up in the top 3. I like the kid. I want to see him get through the Summer without an injury or getting "lost" like he did last season.

"barely won"? Do you follow the sport? Reed clinched the '09 title with 2 events remaining. jeez people, facts.
