After not being able to find the 64oz jug of Maxima air filter cleaner anywhere, i finally reached out to Maxima and they confirmed that it's been discontinued. They only have the aerosol cleaner now.
Wondering if anyone has any recommendations on good filter cleaner to get off maxima air filter oil. That stuff is sticky as hell so i always just paired it up with the same brand cleaner to be safe.
Any recommendations appreciated.

Plain old gasoline works excellent. I've been using it on all brands of filters for 40+ years. It does not deteriorate filter foam or the glue on the seams. Dispose of it properly! I always use a bit of dish soap afterwards - suds it up good and rinse completely and let dry before re-oiling.

bumping this to the top I called maxima today as well, discontinued... cant even buy mineral spirits in california at home depot unless its carb certified. I asked them how youre supposed to clean out fft they said the aerosol is still available, but usually it takes one can per filter to get it really clean, lame
Welcome to California! You can still buy gasoline there (see above post), at least until they outlaw all gas-powered vehicles
2 gallons of K1 kerosene in 5 gal pal, cleans filter oil out great, then wash with soapy hot water. K1 less flammable than gasoline…
Been doing it this way for years! Palmolive dish soap it the best soap to wash the filters with.
F3....that stuff is literal magic.

I think I bought F3 but haven’t used it. Lots of us used gasoline for years. I use cheap Charcoal lighter, it’s very close to Varsol. Then dawn dish soap. I’ve used mineral spirits whatever, it all works.
Twin air filter cleaner works wonderful with FFT.
Maxima spray can will clean 6-7 filters easy. I’m in fl and my filters can filthy in one day.
