Bar Bend

I switched from a stock Husky bend to a Suzuki bend because it's taller but otherwise has similar dimensions. This bar makes my wrists ache though. I know bars are very personal but when I go taller should I be looking at more or less sweep, just suck it up? I couldn't find a CR high bend which is my usual go to bar.

I have a brand new set of Pro Taper Evo CR High bends. I test fit them and never ran them because I liked the Husky Stk bend better. You are welcome to them. Ironically I see you’re right down the hill from me. I’m up in Wrightwood. Let me know if you’re interested.

Funny you say that..I run Renthal 999's on my husky and I jumped on my friends husky with taller protapers on it and literally 2laps of putting around with no gear and my wrists were killing me..

I went through a handlebar crisis myself. I can say I ended up running the suzuki bend on my GASGAS but play around with rolling them forward and back. Start extreme, roll them all the way forward. Then go the opposite direction. You'll get a feel for what happens at the extremes and can move from there. For me, I was getting like.. 'acute hand pump' because I had them rolled too far forward. Once i rolled them back some I seriously extended my moto times by 3-5 minutes just because my hands weren't blowing up. Anyways, probably not that helpful except to say it's really worth working on (for me). Also, I use PHDS bar mounts with the green elastomers and that took all the wrist pain away (along with a spring conversion).

Back to the Husky bend but with taller spacers to get the height where you prefer is the way to go...

Stock KTM is closer to the 999. Husky is 1-2mm taller but a little less sweep (2-3mm). I think I like the KTM bend slightly better than the Husqvarna bend but there isn't a huge difference. SX Race gives me arm pump/hand fatigue but the even taller Race team bend (almost a clone of the 839) doesn't and neither do the husky/ktm bends.

I run the sx race bend on my yz450 and it feels really good. I put the sx bend on my 22 350sxf, so that the bars would have the same feel and I dont think its a good bend for me with that bike. I feel like I cant get far up on the tank when I transition to sitting for cornering and I dont feel like im up over the front end as much as I should be. Trying to decide which bend to go with and maybe try a taller seat. The taller seat on my yz450 helps me get further up on the tank.

What bars did you get?  Rental and Pro Taper contour are thicker and stiffer then PT Evo.

The 999 McGrath TwinWall is nearly identical.  Listed as 1mm difference in height, and of course you lose a ton of control space for buttons, etc.

The 821 McGrath FatBar is dead identical to stock Husky.

I have long arms.  I like Pro Taper Windham bend.   Swapped out Renthal’s on my 23 Honda 250R for Windham bend.  Also like Tusk fat bar MX bend,  that’s what I have on my 250F trail bike.
