I've always been a Yamaha guy, so I hope so! It's going to be an uphill struggle for them against all the Italian bikes, especially with no 'B'-Team to help with data and set-up, let alone numbers!
Looks grim if you are on anything other than a Ducati.
It's going to be a very unpredictable season with the half-distance sprint races on Saturdays paying half-points, but doubling the chances for rider injuries.
I wonder if Dorna will abandon them if it turns out to be disastrous?

This Wing Crap is getting out of Control!
I have to imagine Dorna will put a stop to this. But I agree, it's a little outrageous..
Seriously, what the hell are they thinking? It may be ok, but I really have my doubts.
It sure would suck to go out on a Saturday chasing half points, and have to miss a Sunday race.
Not long now boys & girls.
I've backed Pecco, Acosta & Crazy Boy for the championships.
Good analysis about the impact of the added Saturday sprint races

Whoa!!!!
Thriller Miller!

COTA can't get here soon enough for Marquez.
I love to see it. Hopefully it's more than just one lap magic from the ktm and Miller
Marc doing Marc things
Exactly.
I've always figured he'd meet his demise while racing.
But it sucks that he's taking others with him.
Just frikkin plowed into him.
Justin Marquez.
He needs a holiday. But not to Argentina
I get now that Rossi is gone Marc is the golden boy for Dorna. Not that Rossi was ever Dorna’s favorite.. but he sold a lot of stuff (tickets, merch, etc.)
But really FIM? A double long lap penalty is all he gets? That was one of the worst judgement calls I’ve ever seen in modern motogp. Time and time again, Marc only gets his wrist slapped. He should be suspended for at least a race. Or at least make him start at the back of the grid in Argentina. So now he will get ANOTHER tow in qualifying, ride like a mad man and cause more carnage.
Pit Row
While I agree with it being a dumb mistake from Marc. Honda has to shoulder some of the blame. The guy has to ride over his head to even touch the competition at the front. If he had a competitive bike he'd be able to back it down a tad and still stay with them. Instead he's riding desperate from the word go.
As for the penalty, well it doesn't matter so much now, he's out for this week with a broken thumb. What really sucks is that Oliveira is out now too and Martin will be riding with a broken toe.
Rossi and Lorenzo might not agree with you, there were more than a few times he slammed into riders and his bike was competitive.
Couple KTM's and an Aprilia kept things interesting.
Let's hope they can keep it up.
Yea Saturday's Sprint race was WFO and exciting for the fans but doubling the risk for injuries is not ideal in the long run.
My buddy said they limit the amount of fuel I haven't looked into it so they can't use MAX power ???
Oh there's no doubt he's aggressive. But making contact in a battle at the end of the race is very different from losing control of the bike because you're being made to push past your limits.
I could believe that.
What didn't make sense is he had no direction of where he was going. I don't know if he missed a shift or missed the brake, but his trajectory was going to be in the gravel/wall. He had so much speed, I think this specific crash is a Marc problem. It seems he rides overzealous knowing he doesn't have the pace to ride up front and tries to overcompensate.
I totally agree with your first paragraph. He’s riding that bike way beyond its limits through his crazy skills. Hopefully they can make that bike better during the season. It does seem like the penalty is a little light but Nakagami didn’t receive a penalty when he wiped out Rins and Bagnia last year.
The 23 Ducati winning the first race can’t be a good sign. It took them quite awhile to dial in the 22 Ducati last year and they already won the first two races this year. At least it looks like Aprilla and KTM have made a step in the right direction. Hopefully FQ20 can qualify better, if not it’s going to be a long year..
Just in: Razlan is angry!!! This from the team;
CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team pushes for harsher penalties on reckless racing
CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team, following a recent incident of reckless and irresponsible racing displayed by Marc Marquez against Miguel Olivera, is pushing for harsher and severe penalties from the FIM Stewards.
MotoGP races whether it be a sprint or main races, are high-speed and high-intensity, where every rider wants to win at all costs. However, such aggressive behavior can often lead to dire consequences, not only for the riders themselves but also for their fellow competitors.
The incident at the recent race between Marc Marquez and Miguel Olivera should serve as a wake-up call for riders in MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3. Thus, it is imperative that they are reminded of the severity of the punishment for any kind of reckless and irresponsible racing.
CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team condemns such behavior and strongly advocates for stricter penalties to deter future offenders including the team own riders. We urge the FIM Stewards to take quick and decisive action against such reckless riding, setting examples for the younger and upcoming riders in Moto3 and Moto2.
We believe that safety is the top priority in any sport, and MotoGP must take necessary actions to ensure the safety of all its riders. We look forward to supporting the FIM Stewards in their ongoing efforts to develop a safer and more responsible racing environment.
Fabio didn't look happy at all during qualifying today. My money is on him being gone from Yamaha as soon as his contract allows. May even wind up pulling a Vinales.
Yup. Fabio couldn’t find grip. Yamaha is wasting time once again this year.
Holy SHIT what a sprint race from Binder!
