Here in the UK , we had 'our hottest June on record', and at the same time, i had the 'June where i wore a jumper 'the most..  it doesnt add up.

I have 1000 ish friends and acquantances on socials media , from all over the world, and this year, i am yet to see a post that actually shows me its hot anywhere.   Not MSM stuff, but actual pics of real folk posting 'its fucking boiling stuff.

No car thermometer pics, house thermometer pics, not even a single sunburn pic .

Now while the MSM can make graphics that are red for fun, how is it where you are ?

While this may not reflect the actual temperature away from this roof I’m working on, this is the temperature of the roof I’m working on lol.

The parking lot out on the street is about 15* cooler. Fuck working on rooftops.

In the Seattle area, that counts as scorching. I’d rather be in 110F weather over here than 95F weather over there, that’s for sure!

texas has seemed to be pretty typical to me, some miserable hot days followed by just regular hot days.

I dont take pictures of the temperature anymore, but the hottest i've seen from my trucks thermistor was 114 on Sunday. Facebook memories recently showed me a 122 photo I took many years ago.

It doesn't feel like record breaking temperatures, but it sure doesn't feel pleasant, and we aren't in August yet.

I just finished up an 8 week rooftop HVAC renovation in Fresno. My wife text me one day to to remind me to drink water and be careful because it was going to get up to 100deg ( she's still a good lady after all these years). I text back, Thanks thats good news and will be a welcome relief when we get off the 115 deg roof ( I'm still a dick).

115 deg roofs are brutal. But that's where you go to cool off from the 135 deg attic work.

Also, now I know I'm not the only one that still has analog stem thermometers in my truck.

I agree that something seems odd.  A few years back the news channels out of Seattle were talking about how they were having near record levels of rain, but just a few hours away at my house we were dry as a bone for months.  It made me suspicious, because obviously what was happening where I was at during that time should have been indicative of everywhere else, also............

We’ve had a cooler year on Cali…but, as soon as we get just a coupl’a hot days…? “It’s the end of the World!”

Laughing

Rode a 2-Day Ride/Nevada Mystery 250 last weekend. Yes, it was hot. Yes, it was the Nevada Desert. Yes, it was normal.

I'm still waiting for our typical scorcher here in Northern Illinois and nothing has happened yet. It's actually cooler than normal.

When I was in OZ, the jersey that the footy players wear are called "jumpers". They are about as non-women as you can get.

Phoenix is always hot in summer, but we just hit 18 days in a row of 110+ temperatures.

And it is forecast for another 10 or so days at 110+, so basically the whole month is 110+.

And many of these days have been 115-118 range so it's hot as hell. Literally. My outside temp gauge in my truck said 122 a couple days ago.

But we had a cooler than normal May and June, so old Mother Nature is just making up for lost time....

E. A suicider.

I dunno how we can figure out if it's hot or not if we can't even figure out what a jumper is...

It's been much cooler than usual up until just recently. 100+ degrees for the last week or so - that's more like average for July around here.

The thermometer was a gift from my grandfather years ago. I carry in my safety vest pocket daily.

The plumbing division of my company is slow so, I’m pulling line sets and, brazing  the units on the roof for the HVAC side. Working on roofs sucks. These are flat and, white. It’s like walking on foil it’s so bright walking around on it. I’m drinking over a gallon of water each day.

I think it’s to determine if we know what a jumper is.

I thought the thread was going to be about people getting to hot and jumping off a bridge.

1. NORTH AMERICAN a collarless sleeveless dress, typically worn over a blouse."she wore a faded denim jumper over a plain blouse"

2.BRITISHa sweater. "the evenings can be chilly, so warm jumpers and sweatshirts are essential"

Feels like summer outside to me.

The weirder thing is that fall, winter, and spring keep getting shorter.

same, Clearwater Beach for 6 days was hot. the thing i noticed was it was as hot in the shade as it was in the sun.  in UT, it's at least 5-10 cooler in the shade than the sun.

this week in northern UT it's hot, really hot. next week every day is in the 100's

The point of the thread is to see if the 'people on the ground' can validate the hysteria in the media.

As it stands 75% of us seem to think that at best its a normal summer, or worse and only 25% think its warmer than they would expect.

So i would say that the feeling is that it isnt anything out of the ordinary

Its just summer.

Another thing that tells me it isnt hot, certainly here, is that i still have a my 'spring' haircut' .. normally by now i am well into having it short for summer . Havent even slept with a window open yet , and we dont have AC as a rule here in the UK,

It was warm in june for a few weeks, but not so as you would have your windows open all day
