True dat! Also with alot of other things. The crash is terrible. My supplements are diet based.

i know....  i havent seen 200 in 15 years...

i think its like 500-800 is a "normal, natural" level... so even with the 90 a week, im stuck around 178 right now

but they we are looking at other alternative things as well then to just pump up the TRT

2 Cents from someone who specializes in this for a living.... Supplements are designed to supplement deficiency. The first question to ask is "What's not working? Why is the check engine light on?" When someone comes to me or my colleagues, it takes us quite a bit of testing and discovery before we can confidently suggest supplementation.... Including an HRT Consult. Now there are obvious no brainers when it comes to electrolyte/ mineral supplementation for athletes as well others like protein, MCT's and other for the convenience factor.

The alarming trend we are seeing however is the low T levels in young athletes 18-25 year old healthy males with Test levels below 200. Much of the time even after a year following all the natural protocols to encourage elevation it is hard to get them beyond 300. Clomid and HCG have been shown to help a bit more without shutting down the testes but still nowhere near previous reference ranges for that age group. Sadly, there hasn't been the level of interest that this issue deserves in studying these trends at the universities. Regardless, we have a major problem on our hands.

You said MCT’s. I’m thinking mct oil and such. I cycle keto when I lack the discipline or desire to cut the old fashion way. This is when I was introduced to mct oil. Now that I do mostly endurance training, marathons, and obviously moto, I stay away from ketogenic diets because I don’t like it for what I do.

Should people like we/me/us consume things like MCT oil for any positive reason on a regular carb fed diet? I ask because you grouped it in with staples like electrolytes and protein. Divulge the wisdom!

Solid question, definitely support you decision to use carbs as a primary energy source as an athlete. That being said your body will still be metabolizing fats for energy as well.

The longer the event your are competing in, the more important it becomes. You can only store so much glycogen from carbs in your muscle/liver so having easy to digest fats in your system is an advantage. I don't want to over sell it, but for some of the guys I work with racing west coast off road (WORCS/NGPC/NHHA) it has made a noticeable difference. I would not put it on the same tier of importance to supplement when compared to Protein and Electrolytes however.

Hope that's useful.

Glad someone else is talking about the body leveraging other nutrients besides Carbs. For longer events, the body will start to break down muscles to get at some protein (amino acids) if they're not in the system. To help negate against that, eat 5-10g of protein for every hour your on the bike or racing.

Arma (Pre-Workout | Whey Protein | Ammunition for your body (armasport.com)) makes good supplements. All of their stuff is organic and free of artificial colors/flavors. My son uses it for his BMX training, which is Olympic-level. Scott has been helpful answering any questions we have had, as well.

We also use Dr Mercola (Dr. Mercola Protein & Fitness Products at Mercola Market) and First Phorm (1st Phorm | The Foundation of High Performance Nutrition) for some of the things that Arma doesn't provide.

Depends on a lot of things. If you’re older and on trt, yes you need to stay on it, because your body isn’t producing enough testosterone in the first place

if you’re doing it to repair, or grow muscle faster, you can go off it and your body will go back to its normal levels off production in 3 weeks- 3 months.

The pituitary gland doesn’t stop producing testosterone just because you’re using testosterone, it slows down. Once it realizes the testosterone is out of the system, it will start producing again

The pituitary gland doesn’t even produce any testosterone, so there’s that…..

Cardarine and mk677 work well to enhance endurance. Eat lots of spinach broccoli good fats and protein. Ppls t levels have been dropping each generation. Trt is a good option for those 40 and over if u feel those symptoms. If u stop u will need clomid and hcg to get your testicles back functioning properly.

Vit D, Protein, Creatine

Lot of bullshit out there nowadays.

This right here and that's all you need, unless blood work has been done and your body needs something else !!

TRT is like antidepressants.  Yes they are appropriate for a few very rare cases. But most people that want them eat poorly, dont get enough sleep, abuse alcohol or drugs, don't exercise enough and have toxic relationships. They want an easy way out instead of living a healthy lifestyle.

Fix everything else for a year then, if there's still a very clear problem, consider TRT.

Otherwise, protein and vitamin D are plenty. Maybe Creatine if you want to look more ripped but it'll probably make your arm pump worse.
