This is actually our shop demo for the time being. I want to get some hours on it before I commit to the exact specs I want. Unfortunately I have not had much of an opportunity to get a feel for it as the weather has not been cooperating for the last couple weeks. I cannot believe how easy it is to rid. Not to mention the hilarious power that is available if you do choose. I believe there is a future for them. Reverse on a dirt bike is actually awesome.

Most of my gripes are minor, and are fairly specific to my personal tastes.

1. Throttle slack is not adjustable. I always run a pinch of slack in my throttle cables, it just feels very easy to whiskey throttle if you get tired with no freeplay.

2. Triple clamps twist with the simplest of tip overs...I also with they had another notch to get the bars a bit more forward.

3. The charger being in the stand is fine. But, the charge cable from the stand to the bike is short. I've been trying to keep mud off the stand because it seems to be not something you want to pressure wash. So after a muddy moto you've gotta lean the bike again something and have the stand close to charge.

4. Pirellis just ain't it for where I ride, I'll leave it at that.

5. Cannot run a lock on grip for the throttle side. Never thought I'd be using glue and tie wire again.

Please explain the whiskey throttle slack, as soon as you get off idle you have taken the slack out of the cable....

I was checking out one that a guy had at the practice track last Sunday. I cruised it around the pit. They're really skinny. It had a KYB A-kit shock on it. Do they all come standard with that?

I always run free play in my throttle cables, as do most people from the bikes I have ridden. The stark throttle simulates a throttle cable with zero slack. The slightest turn of the throttle tube activates the motor. I just felt I had to consciously pay attention to not give it small amounts of throttle when I did not want to. The more I have ridden it, the less I have noticed....but it is something I'd like to be able to change.

Just standard KYB stuff on the stock bike.

the adjustment screws look like over the counter kyb a kit stuff. im purely speculating by comparing pics. it would be pretty bad ass if it came with it stock tho!

OP have you got to test the range at all? My brother and i are very interested in getting starks, but we race and ride offroad. not sure if the range is there yet to finish a 2 hour hare scramble.

It has that no-slack feel but then it also has a very long twist that you can’t adjust or replace with anything aftermarket.

Front fender needs to tilt down a little bit,

Clicked on this expecting Bob had joined the RM army 🤣.

Apparently, the gyro effect on these bikes in the air is wild. Having no throttle play would bother me too.

The gyro effect with the throttle is incredible, although not that hard to get used to.

Brake taps are the same but play on your mind a bit. Pulling the clutch and stabbing the rear brake, in the air, is like second nature to me. When I do it on the Stark my brain thinks I forgot to pull the clutch and I'm expecting to stall in it the air...but as you know that's not possible haha. Little things like that take some getting used to.

I have not really tested the range yet. Our weather patterns have been all over the map so my seat time is super limited.

I’ve ridden four rides on my new one. The gyro is not as bad as I expected. Mine came with a hand rear brake and they sent the foot assembly at no charge. I like the brake on the bars now.  It allows very little feet movement so, I end up standing more.  The battery life is atrocious so, I bring my 450 so I’m not staring at the generator and waiting to ride. If you’re on the fence, riding one will put you into getting one. Acceleration is awesome.

I plan to pick one up in a few years; hopefully battery life has improved a bit by then.  Guy at the local track was nice enough to let spin a few laps on his which was also set up with hand rear brake and set to 60 HP.  I was sold.  The prospect of never changing oil or cleaning air filters is a huge factor for me also.

True, you need 5 min for gear oil change every 40 h.

Depends a lot on rider and terrain, a bit on bike settings, range is limited, you'll find multiple go pro videos of hare scramble on YT, also guys racing GNCC got between 1.5 and 2.5 hours.

Some very thorough off-road range tests here:

Maybe OP could tell later how it relates to his riding.

Quick tip: respect the throttle pull until you fully understand how it responds. My second day on the bike I saw an opportunity to low speed seat bounce some whoops. I grabbed a handful and just about looped’er out.
Made a mental note of that and haven’t done it since. Power delivery is super smooth, but that throttle pull is to the moon.

Nice bike. Aren’t they fun to ride!? Perfect bike next to the traditional ICE bikes. Both are great, but fun in different ways.

Get any more time in on the bike?

I’m curious when we will see a new model, or 2.0 version of the bike. If solid state batteries are viable in the next couple years range and weight will be a non factor.
